I and a small group of folks have been working on a profile-related
specification (and accompanying tooling)
https://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/draft-amundsen-richardson-foster-alps/

would be happy to discuss if this looks like something the group would be
interested in.

A New Internet-Draft is available from the on-line Internet-Drafts directories.
This draft is a work item of the Building Blocks for HTTP APIs WG of the IETF.

Title : RateLimit Header Fields for HTTP
        Authors : Roberto Polli
                          Alejandro Martinez Ruiz
	Filename : draft-ietf-httpapi-ratelimit-headers-01.txt
	Pages : 30
	Date : 2021-05-11

Abstract:
This document defines the RateLimit-Limit, RateLimit-Remaining,
RateLimit-Reset fields for HTTP, thus allowing servers to publish
current service limits and clients to shape their request policy and
   avoid being throttled out.

The IETF datatracker status page for this draft is:
https://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/draft-ietf-httpapi-ratelimit-headers/

There is also an HTML version available at:
https://www.ietf.org/archive/id/draft-ietf-httpapi-ratelimit-headers-01.html

A diff from the previous version is available at:
https://www.ietf.org/rfcdiff?url2=draft-ietf-httpapi-ratelimit-headers-01

Please note that it may take a couple of minutes from the time of submission
until the htmlized version and diff are available at tools.ietf.org.

Internet-Drafts are also available by anonymous FTP at:

Hello all,

Jayadeba and I would like to submit a draft for The Idempotency HTTP Header
Field <https://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/html/draft-idempotency-header-01>
to this working group for further consideration.

We have listed below some organizations using this header. Many of these
were already using the header before we wrote the draft. Many are using the
concept in their APIs but differently (listed below as well). Predominantly
this header is used by fintech companies and financial orgs but we have
found usage elsewhere too including in Django and https.org (HTTP for
Scala).

Let us know how we can proceed. See the abstract and implementation status
below.

thanks,
sanjay

https://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/html/draft-idempotency-header-01

*Abstract*

The HTTP Idempotency request header field can be used to carry idempotency
key in order to make non-idempotent HTTP methods such as POST or PATCH
fault-tolerant.

*Implementation Status*

Organization: Stripe

o Description: Stripe uses custom HTTP header named "Idempotency-
      Key"
   o Reference: https://stripe.com/docs/idempotency

   Organization: Adyen

o Description: Adyen uses custom HTTP header named "Idempotency-Key"

Hello Sanjay, others,

I had a quick look. I'm not familiar with the details.

However, I think the title of this draft should not be
"The Idempotency HTTP Header Field", but "The Idempotency-Key HTTP
Header Field". Same for some of the section titles in the draft.

Also, putting BCP 14 keywords in quotes in the actual text looks really
strange. Maybe the text

The key words "MUST", "MUST NOT", "REQUIRED", "SHALL", "SHALL NOT",
"SHOULD", "SHOULD NOT", "RECOMMENDED", "NOT RECOMMENDED", "MAY", and
"OPTIONAL" in this document are to be interpreted as described in BCP
14 [RFC2119] [RFC8174] when, and only when, they appear in all
    capitals, as shown here.

should be changed to

The key words "MUST", "MUST NOT", "REQUIRED", "SHALL", "SHALL NOT",
"SHOULD", "SHOULD NOT", "RECOMMENDED", "NOT RECOMMENDED", "MAY", and
"OPTIONAL" in this document are to be interpreted as described in BCP
14 [RFC2119] [RFC8174] when, and only when, they appear in all
capitals, as shown here, and without quotes.

Some text such as

The idempotency key that is supplied as part of every "POST" request
MUST be unique and "MUST" not be reused with another request with a
    different request payload.

is otherwise difficult to interprete. What's the difference between MUST
and "MUST"? It looks like "MUST" isn't meant seriously.

Regards,    Martin.

A New Internet-Draft is available from the on-line Internet-Drafts directories.
This draft is a work item of the Building Blocks for HTTP APIs WG of the IETF.

Title : Linkset: Media Types and a Link Relation Type for Link Sets
        Authors : Erik Wilde
                          Herbert Van de Sompel
	Filename : draft-ietf-httpapi-linkset-01.txt
	Pages : 30
	Date : 2021-05-31

Abstract:
This specification defines two document formats and respective media
types for representing sets of links as stand-alone resources. One
format is JSON-based, the other aligned with the format for
representing links in the HTTP "Link" header field. This
specification also introduces a link relation type to support
   discovery of sets of links.

hello.

@herbert and i just posted an updated version of the linkset draft. this
version addresses the last open issue (opened by @julian) we had:
https://github.com/ietf-wg-httpapi/linkset/issues/8

we have added another issue but that one does not change any of the
format or its definition. it simply proposes to add a profile media type
parameter to both media types to support the RFC 6906 profile mechanism:
https://github.com/ietf-wg-httpapi/linkset/issues/9

this draft has now gone through a number of review cycles by the
community. if you are interested in this topic, please review the draft
and provide your feedback. we hope that this one is ready for prime time
once we have made that final tweak for issue #9.

thanks a lot and cheers,

dret.
