Dear colleagues,
This draft updates RFC8007, we are basically updating the trigger
interface, adding generic extensions, defining initial set of extensions,
as well as extending error handling and adding FCI objects to support
extensions.

Any feedback on this draft would be highly appreciated.

Thanks, and have a happy new year.
Ori

A New Internet-Draft is available from the on-line Internet-Drafts
directories.
This draft is a work item of the Content Delivery Networks Interconnection
WG of the IETF.

Title : CDNI Control Triggers Interface Extensions
        Authors : Ori Finkelman
                          Sanjay Mishra
        Filename : draft-ietf-cdni-triggers-extensions-01.txt
        Pages : 42
        Date : 2018-12-02

Abstract:
This document updates RFC 8007 to include generic extensions and more
granular content matching options, required by the Open Caching
architecture. The Open Caching working group of the Streaming Video
Alliance is focused on the delegation of video delivery request from
commercial CDNs to a caching layer at the ISP. In that aspect, Open
Caching is a specific use case of CDNI, where the commercial CDN is
the upstream CDN (uCDN) and the ISP caching layer is the downstream
CDN (dCDN). The extensions specified in this document to the CDNI
Control Interface / Triggers are derived from requirements of Open
Caching but are applicable to CDNI use cases in general.

It looks like the Logging Codes in =C2=A74.5 are a bit behind some other
recent changes. Some notes:

403 refers to "Regular Expression" enforcement, but it's possible a
different container was used. If this is to refer just to regexen,
that's fine, but then we'd need a code for mismatched other container.
I suspect this should just say, "cdniuc enforcement".

These claims can be used for enforcement, but don't have an associated
code (with examples):
sub: The subject isn't authorized for content on the dCDN.
aud: The token was presented to the wrong dCDN.
  jti: A token is reused.
cdniv: An unsupported token version number is presented.
cdnicrit: An unsupported extension is used.

Additionally, although the 500 code can be used for a malformed URI,
it's unclear what should be logged when the claim formulation is
unacceptable, for example, a negative cdnistd claim or a cdnistt
without a cdniets claim. In fact, it's not entirely clear from the
text whether a claim formulated like this MAY, MUST, or MUST NOT be
rejected.

And if a token is rejected for a reason not listed, presumably as a
result of an extension, what number should be logged? Should we have a
"catch-all"?

What if a token is invalid for multiple reasons? Which code takes precedenc=
e?
