Hi Mike,
Apart from the change you suggested following are the changes I made to get
moving ahead.

In file BundleEvent.h
bundlesendrequest:action_ int to int32_t
bundlereceivedevent:source_ int to u_int32_t
bundledeliveryevent:source_ int to u_int32_t

In file Forwardinginfo.h
Forwardinginfo:action_ int to int32_t
Forwardinginfo:state_ int to int32_t

In file Link.h
Link:state_ int to int32_t

In file Registration.h
Registration:failure_action_ int to int32_t

In file RouteEntry.h
RouteEntry:action_ int to int32_t

In RouteEntry.cc
at line 70,  p.addopt(new oasys::EnumOpt("action", fwdopts, &action_));
since action_ had been changed to int32_t from int, the required parameter
was int and it was getting int32_t. So I replaced the line with

int temp_action;
p.addopt(new oasys::EnumOpt("action", fwdopts, &temp_action));
action_=(int32_t)temp_action;

After these changes I had a linker error "undefined reference to
xdr_free(int (*)(), char *)". xdr_free is called in two places: one in
XDRUtils.h and the other in dtn_api.c. The call in dtn_api.c is present in
the previous code that I used and it compiles well. The new call in
XDRUtils.h is not present in the code I used earlier. This code compiles
well on linux platforms but has the linker error with cygwin. One thing I
noticed was that the call in dtn_api.c is from C code while that in
XDRUtils.h is in C++ code. This is probably an issue of name mangling but am
not sure how to get rid of it. Any suggestion in this regard would be
useful.

Also please let me know if the type conversion that I have done are safe to
use.

Thanks,
Zahir Koradia

Try changing the reason_ field type in the ContactEvent class to be a
u_int32_t instead of an int. If that works, let me know and I'll
check in the change.

Hello All,
I was having problems with creation of a link at run time in the old
code(about 2 months old) I was using (the state of the link got stuck at
"OPENING") and wanted to try out my changes in the new cvs code. But the new
code seems to be having some problems installing on Cygwin. The error that I
am getting is in the file BundleEvent.cc line 196. The compiler could not
choose one of the overloaded process() functions unambiguously for the call.
At the call the parameters are (const char[7], and int*) and the two
candidates of process functions among which the compiler had confusion have
parameters (const char*, int32_t*) and (const char*, long unsigned int*) I
am not aware of that part of the code. Can some please help me out as to
which function should be used and what changes can I samely make to go ahead
in compilation?

Thanks,
Zahir Koradia

I'm assuming you're using the latest release, correct (i.e. not the
CVS HEAD).

I've made a complete rewrite of the TCP convergence layer so it'll
get rid of this problem and hopefully not introduce too many new
ones. I'm planning on a release of the code sometime in the next
month or so and will post to the list when I do so. In the meantime,
you can try the CVS version and see if it fixes your problem.

This should be fixed now -- I toned down the strictness of warnings
when compiling tclreadline.c so it shouldn't complain any more. Let
me know if you still have problems.

Does anybody know them?
There is no documentation...

I have two nodes running dtnd. The links between the two nodes are
configured as ONDEMAND links. Initially the link is up and node A has
a large backlogged bundles to send to node B. While node A is still
sending bundles to node B (the state of the link is "BUSY"), I
manually bring down the link. In A's link table, the link from A to B
stays in the "BUSY" state. Then I bring up the link again, the state
of the link is still "BUSY". No bundle transmission takes place,
however, despite that A has a large backlog. One or two minutes
later, dtnd on A crashes. The last few lines of the log says

[1161308836.034272 /dtn/cl/tcp/conn/192.168.2.12:5000/event_notifier
debug] poll_with_notifier timed out

0x80e86d8 0x80e87b8 0xb7ddeced

The line number is only for reference because I made some
customization to the file TCPConvergenceLayer.cc. It actually points
to these lines:

if (total >= 60) {
                        PANIC("bundle daemon took > 60 seconds to
process event: "
                              "fatal deadlock condition");
                    }

It also seems that if I don't bring up the link again, the link will
be stuck in the "BUSY" state but won't crash. Could this be a bug in
the code?

Thanks,
Shimin

Hi Ladies and Gentlemen,

Well, as you know I have had some problems with compiling dtnsim2
I solved (I think) all my problems (also thanks to you) so I resume here
the changes I made to fix these.
I wish this help

====================================================================
 In simulator.h , uncomment this line and check the installation

 gsl_rng                 *rand_gen;

Add this line into your simulator.h file

int                                init(int routing_type,int max_t);

below
int                                init(int break_point_type,int
routing_type,int lptype,time_type_t
max_t);

Go into the file "constants.h" and I uncommented

#include <gsl/gsl_randist>
#include <gsl/gsl_rng.h>

In the Makefile uncomment this line

LDFLAGS= -lgsl -lgslcblas

and add "break.o lpent.o" in "dtsim"

dtsim:  break.o lpent.o topology.o netent.o network.o  pktent.o ctrlent.o
node.o link.o sched.o sim.o
        ${CCMALLOC} g++  -o dtsim       break.o lpent.o topology.o
netent.o pktent.o ctrlent.o network.o  node.o link.o sched.o sim.o
${LDFLAGS}

Please, does anybody have some idea to solve it?
But did you also get such problems to compile dtnsim2 ?

Hi,

DTN router can deliver the remain bundles to their destination as normal. I tested it as the following steps:
1. shutdown the AP -> dtnsend one message -> open the AP
after some seconds, DTN delivered the bundle to its destination OK.
2. shutdown the AP -> dtnsend one message -> open the AP -> ping the destination
I find that DTN did not deliver the bundle to its destination. I look for it with "bundle list" command and I find that it has lost.

Does DTN can't work with normal TCP/IP application together, or it's a BUG? Who can give me some advice? Thanks very much!

Regards.

Fumin

Hello Mr. Michael Demmer

As we know that when we run the simulation we get a segmentation fault,
So i used a gdb and found that programme interrupt at a template "
MsgQueue" ( Scope lock ),

I really don't know how to handle this error, Can you please help me out
with this?

Thank you for your time
Mahendiran
