Dear folks.

I want test a protocol that can be compared with DTN.
For my testing, I have to make many TCP session and test file transmission.

Where should I revise inside the code to make many TCP session for end to
end connection?
I can't figure out where should I start to work on the code even at a
glance.
Even Just small hint for retouching will be appreciated.

Thank you a lot.

See
http://cygwin.com/ml/cygwin/2005-04/msg01017.html

Support on Cygwin for various d_blah has been partial;
d_ino support was withdrawn in .19 and then
later fixed after some outcry.

nder-Windows/cygwin-1.5.19-problem.html
has notes on that.)

I suspect you may achieve more lobbying the Cygwin maintainers and
arguing that performance overheads in Cygwin are pretty meaningless,
given that anyone using it favours compatibility over speed.

http://www.boingboing.net/2008/01/21/wubi-install-ubuntu.html
Wubi may provide an alternative to Cygwin; haven't tried it.

Hi Garuav,

Unfortunately DTN2 support on Cygwin has suffered from some bit rot =20

The dtnsend application currently doesn't differentiate between the
different report types, as the code assumes that only one report will
come per bundle that's transmitted, so it would be inferrable from
the context. Granted, the option parsing part of the application
should probably only let you pick one of the different report types,
and the printing code could be modified to indicate which report type
was actually triggered, so as to make it clearer.

Better yet would be an auxiliary application that solely listens for
status reports and prints them out to the screen. Then you'd run
dtnsend with a different replyto eid and point that eid at the status
report printer application.

Unfortunately that doesn't exist at the moment, but it would be easy
to write and I'd be happy to add it to the repository. Again, I'll
add it to the todo list, unless someone else on the list wants to
pipe up and implement it...

I don't personally have any plans to address this in the near term,
but it's on the (admittedly long) todo list. No promises for when it
might be released however, sorry.

If you're interested in working on this, I'd be happy to lend support
and accept appropriate patches :)

Has this issue been resolved? We see in dtn_2.5.0 that deletion of
links at run-time results in the DTN Daemon throwing an error and
crashing. Please let us know if there is a specific method for deletion
of links. Otherwise, is there an expected build where this capability
can be used?

Thanks,
Brian

Deleting links is not actually supported in the current
implementation due to bugs like this.

How do I determine what type of receipt I am receiving if I set the
flags to get multiple receipt types? I am using the
DTN2/apps/dtnsend.cc example application for testing. For example, if I
set the delivery options (dtn_bundle_spec_t dopts) to get receipts for
end-to-end delivery, bundle reception, and bundle forwarding, how can I
determine what type of receipt I'm getting back at each stage of
delivery? I can't figure out how to differentiate between multiple
reception/forwarding/end-to-end bundle delivery receipts.

Thanks for your help,
Brian

Patched and applied to the main repository, though I had to do a
subsequent branch merge to take into account the changes that I'd
made since you generated your patch (changesets 3149:e20adbeb7560 and

Hi,

Not a particularly interesting patch I admit. This is to get the DTN2
Mercurial tip to compile on Leopard 10.5.1 (Intel). Also builds on
Ubuntu (x86) and Mac OS X Tiger 10.4.11 (PowerPC).

I've got to say that I'm liking Mercurial. This is the first time
I've tried it, and I'm converted.

Darren

Over the past several months, I and a few other people have been
using mercurial [1] as a version control system for the DTN2
reference implementation to replace CVS. Based on those experiences,
we've decided to adopt it as the "official" version control system
for the development of the DTN2 reference implementation going forward.

Mercurial has a number of advantages over CVS, and I won't try to
list them all here, but there are a number of good online resources
available off of the main mercurial web site that explain how
mercurial is different (and IMO better) than CVS or even newer
centralized VC systems like subversion.

Despite the fact that Mercurial can be used in a decentralized
manner, we will continue to host an "official" repository for DTN2
and its supporting libraries (oasys, etc) on code.dtnrg.org. The
dtnrg wiki has been updated with information [2] on how to access the
new mercurial repositories.

We did an initial repository conversion from CVS in October 2007 to
preserve the old revision history and source file attributions. This
included all changes up and including to the 2.5.0 release of DTN2.
Since that time, there have been some relatively significant source
code reorganization and modifications, as can be seen in the
mercurial revision history, but the current tip of the mercurial tree
is stable.

Hopefully this will make it easier for people to use the DTN source
tree (and will help keep my life as the main source maintainer a
little easier). Our initial experiences have been positive and we
hope that will continue going forward.
