Dear friends,
the dispute over the IETF IDNA drains too much of our scarce time. It
shows that there is an industry increasing influence, FLOSS already
opposed in a recent DoS against the IETF list. The idea behind the
IUCG is to stay independent from that internal dispute in being at an
"w2w" (we to we or user to user, nousanous) level. The current IDNA
analysis shows that the Internet actually misses a few key
compenents, starting with the presentation layer.

However, it also shows that if encapsulating the Internet limited
model into a more complete (and innovative, yet 25 years old) model,
it is possible to tansparently obtain a brand new internet model.
This is the Network Extended Model I propose you to work on, and to
implement in using the Internet PLUS concept we already debbuged.

The target is not only to get a better international network system,
but also to support the current evolution where :

- the digital convergence of all the computer (assisted) systems,
media, applicances etc.
- starts meeting the emergence of the huge semantic effort carried by
the JTC1/SC32 for example in metadata.

The proposition here is to further extend the NEM to try to build a
"cartography" of the logic of the universe. Because we have reached a
time where the true systemic of what we do (starting with the network
bandwidth availability and routing) is to be approached on the basis
of chaos theories and that we necessarily change of paradigm. We need
intellectural room and appropriate images to think about it. We also
need appropriate tools for the mathematic and semantic merge. This is
why I suggest we engage into a Common Lisp study and
investigation. Focusing on interaction with context, speed,
robustness, coherence, attractors, etc.

These are just ideas to see if there is an interest. And to decide if
we can builing a thinking/working group on this or not.

There would then be a need for clearer definitions? Or is it precisely what
you have in mind?

You mean you wish to give a try to your old ontography project? If I am
correct your first idea was to document the difference with a model and to
discuss a methodology? The first thing could then be to discuss the
difference betwen a model and a diagram? etc. in order to build a clear
terminology to associate with the ontology (as what is generally observed -
context - norms - truth) and the model (as what is specifically discussed -
uterance - standards - imagination)?

Interesting idea. But we would need a teacher.

Jefsey,
if you want I could manage a reference list of documents, books, etc. that
could help other internet lead users to keep track with what we dicsuss. The
first experience is that we may have sophisticated people from different
disciplines lurking on our pages. They will need to understand where some of
the concepts come from, or who Culioli or Thom, or Connes, or Liebniz, or
Pouzin, or Aristotle are in the communications area ?

Further to the "cerf-control" issues, I suggest that we focus first
on its analysis to make sure we evaluate correctly the
internet/intersem situation irt our own dependance in a
(de)centralized environment. Then we could evaluate the impact of
distributing the different relational space referent systems. And
study the cons/pros.

The remarks that we received on the ietf@ietf.org list were either absurd
(uninformed people) or very pertinent (Paul Hoffmann, Andrew Sullivan, even
Michel PY who totally misunderstood the situation but gave a good advice).
Some other private inputs I gather show that some do not believe in IDNs at
all (may be what Mark and Vint think after all?), and that others do not
understand the real stakes.

We really should now start from very basic things? In recalling ourselves
that most in the IETF have an inductive newtonian approach. They belong the
"hypotheses non fingo" - Don't fix what ain't broken - pre-Einstein area.
What is obvious to us from JFC is not from them.

Also, you are probably aware now through the Comptoir and Jean-Marc L=E9vy
Dreyfus that John Day and Michael O'Dell have started the Louis Pouzin
Society. http://pouzinsociety.org. May be interesting to analyse their
propositions?

Le WG-IDNABIS attend un projet de notre part en ce qui concerne le
système d'adressage sémantique. Voici une tentative de trame de travail.
The WG-IDNABIS expects we send them an I_D on the semantic addressing
system. Here is a temptative framework.
Merci des commentaires
Thx for comments
jfc

Introduction : This memo relates to only the syntactic and
grammatical presentation of semantic addressing.

1. the semantic addresses form a multilingual system of humanly
interintelligible opened location and technically interoperable of
the notional domains.
2. the semantic addresses consist of a systemation of the genitive
function by logical chaining of its terms by means of strong and weak
connections.
3. the location can be made either of general to particular
(endodynamic pointing), or from particular to general (exodynamic pointing).
4. the full semantic, significant, linguistic and topological of
polynymy of the usable terms must allow the interresolution of the
levels of addressing.
5. on all the levels of addressing the system is indifferent to the
scripts and solutions of universal, linguistic, interlinguistic and
multilinguistic coding of its terms.
6. the addresses adhere to their classes of use, groups of
destination, time and contextual presentation through the pragmatics
of their spacio-relational anchoring.
7. the semantic routing is ensured by coherence of ontographic
referenciation and reasoning.

Applications:

- French
- English
- common lisp
- data-processing structures
- multilingual domain names
- semantic processing

Subject: semantic addressing
To: Lisa Dusseault <lisa.dusseault@messagingarchitects.com>

Dear Lisa,
the semantic addressing is a big piece of cake. As I explained I did
not expect to document it top down, but to get it progressively
embedded bottom up into the IDNA and extensions. As discussed
yesterday I have accepted to spend a few days on it and get it
reviewed by IUCG/france@large followers.

The working page (currently in French) is
http://iucg.org/wiki/Adressage_S%C3%A9mantique_-_Semantic_Addressing
I hope to have it in rough English (so at least everyone can
understand what it is about) tonight.

Beware : the Intersem is a very particular beast (a complete big
strata above the Internet by its own). It is not what I rush a
presentation of (there are many, many things to discuss/document), but
only the notional domain addressing syntax and grammar.

There are therefore two main parties for you :
- what belongs to semantic addressing, which is quite external to
WG-IDNABIS concerns, but explains the background of the semantic
addressing in general, its power, and its capacity to support the DNS
and Unicode the way the Charter and John Klensin/Patrick Falstr=F6m
describe it (I believe at least).
- the description of its general implementation in the DNS, its
support of an Internet presentation virtual layer, and therefore its
capacity to transparently support languages as well (at least for
protocols that document the DNs).

My effort today was focused on the first part. I suppose it will still
be tonight. When I have documented enough the semiophysic
multilinguistic model (so given the detail of the utterance pile
layers) I will concentrate on the documentation of the 100% IDNA
support (plus French and other Latin language extension - which is
only particular due to ASCII and not to French). I will then see if I
can document as well the ML-DNS issues, which have nothing to do with
"multilingual" but with things like "multiledger" (and multilayer,
what I introduced above) and multilateral governance.

jfc
