-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Work-in-Progress (WiP) session, included in PerCom for the seventh year,

gives its participants an opportunity to present and discuss early and

emerging results and bring about novel research questions, approaches, and

directions. The specific aim of the WiP session is to provide a forum for

timely presentation, discussion and feedback for novel, controversial, and

thought provoking ideas. All selected papers will be presented as posters in

a special conference session following a 1-min madness oral presentation.

In addition, all selected papers will be included in PerCom Workshops

proceedings to be published by IEEE and included in the digital library.

Contributions are solicited in all areas of pervasive computing research and

applications. Papers are expected to report on early or ongoing research on

any aspect of pervasive computing and communications. Novel approaches and

results are especially appreciated such as ongoing experimentation.

TOPICS:

Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:

   - Innovative pervasive computing applications

   - Software engineering aspects of pervasive computing

   - Middleware services and agent technologies

   - Pervasive computing for smart environments

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES:

Authors are requested to submit original, unpublished manuscripts in standard

IEEE proceedings format (two-column format with a 4-page limit including

figures, tables, and references) in PDF format that include contact

information of all the authors to the EDAS submission site. If you

have any questions, please send an email to the WIP chairs at

percom2012-wip@iit.cnr.it . The submitted manuscripts will be reviewed by the

WiP Program Committee. The authors of accepted papers will present their work

during the main conference in a special WiP poster session and must register

for the conference. The papers of the WiP session will be published in the

workshop proceedings of the Tenth Annual IEEE International Conference on

Pervasive Computing and Communications.

=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D

WUWNet 2011 has received travel grants from US National Science Foundation

(NSF), to support student authors to present their work in the regular pape=
r
sessions, the Doctoral Symposium and the work-in-progress poster and
demo session. A total of about 15 ~ 20 students will be supported.

When applying, a graduate student needs to submit his/her vita, a short
personal statement, and a supporting email from the student's advisor.

The personal statement (half to one page) should include:

1.A brief summary of research interests and accomplishments to date;
2.A description of areas in the ACM WUWNet 2011 program that would impact
the student's research;
3.The paper/poster/demo that the student is an author on, if applicable.

In addition, the student's advisor should send an email to confirm that
the student is a bona fide Ph.D. or M.S. candidate in good standing.

Applications and the support letters should be emailed by the applicant

and the applicant's advisor, respectively, to shengli@engr.uconn.edu with
subject line "WUWNet Student Travel Grant Application" or "WUWNet Student
Travel Grant Support Letter". ASCII format is strongly preferred, although

PDF format is acceptable.

The travel grant committee is headed by Prof. Shengli Zhou and Dr. Payman
Arabshahi.

Eligibility
Students must be from U.S. based institutions.

Priority will be given to students who are authors of regular papers, short

papers, or posters, and team members of the demos. Depending on the funding=
,
other student attendants will also be considered.

A New Internet-Draft is available from the on-line Internet-Drafts director=
ies. This draft is a work item of the Mobility for IPv4 Working Group of th=
e IETF.

Title : Home Agent assisted Route Optimization between Mobile IP=
v4 Networks
	Author(s) : Antti Makela
                          Jouni Korhonen
	Filename : draft-ietf-mip4-nemo-haaro-07.txt
	Pages : 52
	Date : 2011-11-16

This document describes a Home Agent assisted Route Optimization
functionality to IPv4 Network Mobility Protocol. The function is
designed to facilitate optimal routing in cases where all nodes are
connected to a single Home Agent, thus the use case is Route
Optimization within single organization or similar entity. The
functionality adds the possibility to discover eligible peer nodes
based on information received from Home Agent, Network Prefixes they
represent, and how to establish a direct tunnel between such nodes.

SCOPE
The evolution of wireless networking technologies and their key role in
Future Internet scenarios offer an increasing wealth of opportunities
for distributing multimedia contents over wireless networks, enabling
dissemination of professional contents to mobile users as well as
sharing user-generated contents between them. Users will be able to
retrieve, publish, and manage information, communicate with other users
or devices, access and author services, create and exploit context-
awareness and so on. Papers that present original work, validated by
experimentation, simulation, or analysis, are solicited. Practical
experiences and experimental efforts from both industry and academy,
duly documenting the lessons learned from test-beds, field-trials, or
real deployments, are also welcome.

Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:
- Wireless multimedia systems,services&applications
- System prototypes, measurements, real deployment, and experiences
- Opportunistic and delay-tolerant networks
- Mobile Social Networking
- Participatory and urban sensing
- Energy-efficient protocols and power management
- Seamless inter-networking and self-organization
- Networking services for pervasive systems
- Content-centric architectures, multimedia content management and
 distribution for mobile networks
- Ad-hoc, Sensor and wireless mesh networks
- Wireless BAN, PAN, LAN, MAN and WAN
- Vehicular wireless networks
- Middleware services for wireless, mobile and multimedia networks
- Context-awareness in wireless, mobile and multimedia networks
- Quality of Service and Quality of Experience
- Location mechanism and services
- Multicasting and broadcasting issues
- Handoff and mobility management
- Network management and control
- IP-based mobile networks and wireless multimedia services
- Wireless security, dependability, reliability and survivability
- Authentication, authorization, and accounting
- Modeling and performance evaluation

AWARDS AND EDITORIAL FOLLOW-UPS
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Papers presented at the Symposium will be considered for a Best Paper
Award. Papers of particular merit will be considered for a fast track
publication in the Elsevier Pervasive and Mobile Computing Journal
(PMC) and in the Journal of Multimedia (JMM).

PAPER SUBMISSION AND PUBLICATION
------------------------------------------------------------------------
All submissions must describe original research, not published or
currently under review for another workshop, conference, or journal.
Papers must be submitted electronically through EDAS.
You can find detailed submission instructions at

 http://wowmom2012.it.uc3m.es/submission.html
and
 http://wowmom2012.it.uc3m.es/instructions.html

Submission implies the willingness of at least one author to attend
the conference and present the paper. Accepted papers will be included
in the proceedings of IEEE WoWMoM 2012 and published in the IEEE
Digital Library.

WoWMoM organizers reserve the right to exclude a paper from
distribution after the conference if the paper is not presented at the
conference.

IMPORTANT DATES
------------------------------------------------------------------------
- Manuscript submission deadline: December 2, 2011.
- Manuscript acceptance notification: March 16, 2012.
