             **** Submission Deadline --- February 17, 2012 ****
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The diffusion of lightweight, powerful portable devices, also enriched with a
variety of sensing capabilities, is enabling new ways for users' communication,
and laying the foundation for realizing the ubiquitous networking idea. Acting
either as the main communication mode or as complement to existing mobile
network infrastructures, opportunistic networking can leverage the mobility of
end users and enhance their communication capabilities. The opportunistic
exploitation of extemporary contacts among the users of the network paves the
way to a number of applications but also poses new and challenging problems to
the networking research community. The AOC 2012 workshop aims at serving as a
meeting point for people working in the area and a forum for exchanging ideas,
discussing solutions, and sharing experiences among researchers, professionals,
and application developers, both from industry and academia. As with the
previous five editions of the AOC workshop series, the scope of this year's
workshop will remain on general issues related to opportunistic networking and
computing. Yet, AOC 2012 will have a primary interest in new directions of
opportunistic communications, such as service composition techniques, scenarios
of co-existence with infrastructure networks, and insights to their operation
coming from other disciplines such as game theory and cognitive psychology. The
workshop will solicit original papers addressing theoretical and practical
aspects of autonomic and opportunistic communications but also papers describing
prototype implementations and deployments.

Topics of interest for AOC 2012 include, but are not limited to:

* Routing, transport, and reliability issues
* Techniques for data dissemination and replication
* Applications and middleware support, mobile social networking applications
* Mobility models and statistical analysis of mobility traces
* Context and social awareness mechanisms and algorithms
* Co-existence of opportunistic networks with infrastructure mobile wireless
    networks
* Service composition in autonomic and opportunistic networks
* Cognition-driven information processing and decision making
* Performance modelling, scaling laws, and fundamental limits for autonomic
    and opportunistic communications
* Game-theoretic insights to the operation of autonomic and opportunistic
    networks
* Participatory and urban sensing in autonomic and opportunistic networks
*   Trust, security, and reputation
* Autonomic and opportunistic communication testbeds and prototypes,
    measurement data from real experiments
* Socio-economic models for autonomic and opportunistic communications

PAPER SUBMISSION AND PUBLICATION
--------------------------------

Papers should neither have been published elsewhere nor being currently under
review by another conference or journal. Manuscripts are limited to 6 pages,
single spacing, double column, and must strictly adhere to the template
format. Guidelines on paper submission and formatting are available at
http://cnd.iit.cnr.it/aoc2012/.

Accepted papers will appear in the symposium proceedings published by IEEE. At
least one author of each accepted paper is required to register and present
his/her work at the workshop. There will be no separate registration for
workshop, but one single registration will cover both conference and workshops
participation.

Extended versions of workshop selected papers will be considered for possible
fast track publication on the Computer Communications Journal (Elsevier).

The following errata report has been submitted for RFC5944,
"IP Mobility Support for IPv4, Revised".

--------------------------------------
You may review the report below and at:
http://www.rfc-editor.org/errata_search.php?rfc=5944&eid=3116

--------------------------------------
Type: Technical
Reported by: Pearl Liang <pearl.liang@icann.org>

Section: 3.7.2

Original Text
-------------
Section 3.7.2 "Receiving Registration Requests" says:

Otherwise, if the foreign agent does not serve the mobile node as a home
agent,
the foreign agent rejects the Registration Request with Code 194
   (Invalid Home Agent Address).

Another entry for "Invalid Home Agent Address" is indicated in Section 3.4:

        194 Invalid Home Agent Address

Corrected Text
--------------
For Section 3.7.2 "Receiving Registration Requests", it should say:

Otherwise, if the foreign agent does not serve the mobile node as a home
agent,
the foreign agent rejects the Registration Request with Code 116
(Invalid Home Agent Address).

For the entry for "Invalid Home Agent Address" in Section 3.4, it should say:

        116 Invalid Home Agent Address

Notes
-----
The Code 194 was incorrectly registered under the range for Error Codes from the Foreign Agent (64-127). The mobile note (Invalid Home Agent Address) is a registration under denied by the foreign agent, and so the mobile note should be changed to the Code 116 for Invalid Home Agent Address in the range for Error Codes from the Foreign Agent. The Code 194 has been reserved in the range for Error Codes from the Gateway Foreign Agent (194-200).

This specification defines extensions to Mobile IPv4 protocol for
allowing a mobile node with multiple interfaces to register a care-of
address for each of its network interfaces and to simultaneously
establish multiple Mobile IP tunnels with its home agent. This
essentially allows the mobile node to utilize all the available
network interfaces and build an higher aggregated data pipe with the
home agent for its home address traffic. Furthermore, these
extensions also allow the mobile node and the home agent to negotiate
flow policies for binding individual traffic flows with the
   registered care-of addresses.

------------------------------------------------------------------------

In the last years, the increasing social awareness about the need for containing energy consumption within sustainable rates has caught the interest of both the industrial and academic communities. In this scenario, Internet - and more generally ICT - may play a twofold role, being both a significant energy consumer and a potential actor in steering a more clever usage of energy resources.

Both aspects of the problem raise interesting scientific challenges, and require a comprehensive effort and inter-disciplinary research at all levels of abstraction. The goal of this conference is to bring together people from different research areas, and provide a forum to exchange ideas, discuss solutions, and share experiences among researchers, professionals, and application developers both from industry and academia.

Original papers addressing both theoretical and practical aspects of energy-awareness for Internet-based systems, and the design of ICT solutions for eco-sustainability are solicited. Papers of interest should point out the expected long-term benefits to eco-sustainability.

Topics of interest include but are not limited to:

- Green Internet
- Power-aware Internet applications
- Energy-efficient network architecture and protocols
- Green wireless networking
- Energy-efficient network technologies

The International Symposium on Frontier of Future Communication Networks
(FFCN-2012) to be held in conjunction with The 14th IEEE International
Conference on High Performance computing and communications (HPCC-2012)

http://www.lrm.sdu.edu.cn/ffcn2012.html

Introduction

================

The demand of next generation networks for communications has focused on the
trend in technology and the efficiency. Driven by the fancy technologies and
the applications, the provisioning of large-scaled and complicated
communication networks is becoming an important research issue. Especially
over the last few years, there has been an explosion of wireless subscribers
and booming growth in the Internet both in terms of users and usage. The
trend has led to a new direction, and meanwhile brought many grand
challenges to both industrial and academic communication communities. To
overcome these challenges, it is necessary to seek new levels of research
work on architecture, green networking, performance, and intelligence of
future communication networks. All papers will be peer-reviewed and the
comments will be provided to the authors. All accepted papers will be
included in the proceedings of the main conference IUCC 2012, published by
IEEE Computer Society Press (Indexed by EI). At least one author of any
accepted paper is requested to register at the main conference. Once
accepted, the paper will be included into the IEEE conference proceedings
published by IEEE Computer Society Press (indexed by EI).

The purpose the 2012 International Symposium on Frontier of Future
Communication Networks is to bring together scientists, researchers,
professionals, and practitioners from both industry and academia to share
the opinions, seek the solutions, and report state-of-art research results.

*   Trust, security, and reputation

Call for Posters

Posters are able to facilitate vividly latest research results, creative
ideas and innovative applications. Our experiences from recent INSS
conferences revealed that they promote intense and fruitful discussions
with interested participants from industry and academia to exchange
knowledge, novel methodologies, new concepts and new perceptions directly.
The wide range topic of sensor network related research includes sensor
technology, hardware platforms, networking, security, middleware,
applications, programming and architecture, but is not limited to them.
Submissions from both industries and universities are encouraged.

Posters Submission Instructions

We invite you to submit a short paper (max. 2 pages) for a Poster
contribution. Please send your paper including the description of your
poster in PDF to Andreas Bulling (andreas.bulling@acm.org<mailto:andreas.bu=
lling@acm.org>) with the subject
line reading "INSS Poster Submission".

Posters Presentation and Publication Information

Accepted Poster contributions will be presented in a separate session. We
invite conference participants giving oral presentations to present a
Poster, in addition. This will promote additional intense discussions on
those topics. Participants giving already an oral presentation and which
have registered for a Poster presentation in addition, do not need to
submit a second paper. These participants register for a Poster by an
e-mail to the poster chairs (Jb Labrune
(jean-baptiste.labrune@alcatel-lucent.com<mailto:jean-baptiste.labrune@alca=

Call for Workshop Proposals

ACM SenSys 2012

Toronto, Canada

November 6-9, 2012

http://sensys.acm.org/2012/

The 10th ACM Conference on Embedded Networked Sensor Systems (SenSys
2012) is a highly selective, single-track forum for the presentation
of research results on systems issues in the area of embedded,
networked sensors. Distributed systems based on networked sensors and
actuators with embedded computation capabilities allow for an
instrumentation of the physical world at an unprecedented scale and
density, thus enabling a new generation of monitoring and control
applications. SenSys provides a cross-disciplinary venue for
researchers addressing the rich space of networked sensor system
design issues to interact, present and exchange research results, and
demonstrate their work in a hands-on research exhibition.

Workshops will be a full day event on the first day of the conference.
The ideal workshop proposal should focus on a specific area, be of
current interest, and be able to attract a number of high-quality
submissions. The proposal should be no longer than three pages and
should clearly identify the name of the workshop, theme of the
workshop, topic areas of interest to define the scope, names and
affiliation of main organizers/program chairs and potential program
committee members, the name of the organizing committee member who
will be the main point of contact, a tentative call for papers with
workshop deadlines and expected number of submissions and
participants. The proposal should also specify if this will be a
full-day or half-day workshop, and any logistical needs
(demos/audio/video projection etc). If this workshop has been held
before, also include its history (number of submissions, number of
accepted papers, and number of attendees).

Please send proposals in PDF format by March 23rd, 2012, 12:00
midnight EST, to the workshop chair, Bodhi Priyantha at
bodhip@microsoft.com

IMPORTANT DATES:

<div>Scope:&nbsp;</div>
<div>------</div>
<div>A state-of-the-art mobile phone knows its location, has a capability t=
o recognize its orientation and movement patterns, can modify its display b=
rightness settings according to the lighting conditions, can use embedded c=
ameras for sensing the user's activities,
can communicate through vibration, sound and NFC tags, and send/receive in=
formation through wireless channels. This kind of device enables research i=
n participatory sensing, human probes, vehicle probes, floating cars, urban=
 sensing, co-operating sensing,
to name a few branches. The increasing capabilities of portable devices in=
cluding highly capable smart phones are creating new opportunities not seen=
 before.&nbsp;</div>
<div><br>
</div>
<div>Emerging and existing application domains include traffic, social netw=
orking, entertainment, education, advertisement, environmental preservation=
, surveillance and safety, business, and health care. Among above, real-tim=
e interaction with social networking
is a promising application domain where people can share location and acti=
vity data, as well as photos and update their status through their social n=
etworking services in real-time manner. However, effective design and deplo=
yment of such applications involves
addressing many research issues ranging from efficient platform design, da=
ta and image processing, storage, data mining, power management, user inter=
face, communication of large amounts of data, and privacy issues inherent t=
o portable device sensing.&nbsp;</div>
<div><br>
</div>
<div>This workshop aims at bringing together researchers from academia and =
industry to showcase their work and obtain feedback. The workshop expects t=
o act as a forum for research community to discuss practical issues in prov=
iding portable device sensing applications.
The workshop encourages position papers, novel ideas, early-stage research=
ideas, and in-progress work on system architecture, enabling technologies,=
and emerging applications. The topic areas of interest include, but are no=
