*Call for Papers for MobiHoc 2013*

July 29 to Aug 01 2013
Bangalore India

ACM MobiHoc is the premier international symposium dedicated to
addressing challenges emerging from wireless ad hoc networking and
computing. With its highly selective technical program, the symposium
will bring together researchers and practitioners from a broad
spectrum of wireless networking research to present the most
up-to-date results and achievements in the field.

We invite paper submissions on mobile ad hoc networks, wireless sensor
networks, wireless mesh networks, vehicular networks, and ad hoc
computing systems, with the main focus being on issues at and above
the MAC layer. Physical layer papers are also welcome, provided that
they also address cross-layer networking issues. Areas of interest
include, but are not limited to the following:

   - *Applications and middleware support*
   - *Transport, network, and MAC protocols*
   - *Energy efficiency*
   - *Location discovery*
   - *Cross-layer design and control*
   - *Network resilience, fault-tolerance, and reliability*
   - *Functional computation and data aggregation*
   - *Modeling and performance analysis*
   - *Scaling laws and fundamental limits*
   - *Network coding*
   - *Opportunistic and delay-tolerant networks*
   - *Vehicular networks*
   - *Cognitive radio networks*
   - *Distributed sensing, actuation, control, and coordination*
   - *Distributed social networks and self organization*
   - *Trust, security and privacy*
   - *System design and testbeds*
   - *Measurements from experimental systems*

The symposium encourages the submission of foundational studies,
including theoretical explorations as well as novel architectures and
protocols that identify new challenges in the network design,
innovative services, and applications that may stimulate far-reaching
future research.

This year's symposium will assign a *Best Paper Award* among all the
papers submitted to the conference.

Original Paper Submission Guidelines

------------------------------------------------------------------------

The next IEEE International Symposium on a World of Wireless, Mobile and
Multimedia Networks (IEEE WoWMoM 2013) will be the 14th event in its series.
This symposium intends to provide a definitive forum for networking,
software systems and multimedia research in the wireless/mobile area
involving both computer science and electrical engineering communities.

The WoWMoM Organizing Committee invites proposals for *one-day* workshops
affiliated with the conference. The purpose of these workshops is to provide
a platform for presenting novel ideas in a less formal and possibly more
focused way than at the conference itself. All papers included in the WoWMoM
2013 Workshops will appear in the conference proceedings published by IEEE.
We expect all selected workshops to adhere to a common paper submission and
reviewing schedule as outlined in the dates indicated below.

Workshops Proposals are solicited in all areas and topics pertaining to
wireless mobile and multimedia networking.

Workshops addressing emerging research directions in these areas are highly
welcome.

Each workshop proposal must include:

. The name of the workshop.
. The names, addresses, and a short bio of the organizers.
. A brief description (up to 1 page) of the technical issues that the
workshop will address, and the reasons why the workshop is of interest at
this time.
. The names of potential program committee members.
. The planned format of the workshop, including a strategy to facilitate
lively discussions and attendees involvement.
. The names of the potential keynote speakers, if a keynote speech is
included in the planned format of the workshop.
. If applicable, a description of past versions of the workshop, including
dates, organizers, number of submitted and accepted papers, number of
attendees.
. If the workshop does not have any past editions, an estimate of the
expected number of submitted and accepted papers, and of the expected number
of attendees.
. A tentative call for papers.
. A description of the plans for publicity and workshop web site.
.
.
Workshop proposals should be submitted, no later than October 20, 2012, by
e-mail (in PDF format) with "WoWMoM 2013 Workshop Proposal" in the subject,
to *both* WoWMoM 2013 Workshop Co-Chairs (WSCC) at the addresses:

****** PAPER SUBMISSION DEADLINE EXTENDED TO: NOVEMBER 12, 2012 *****
*************************************************************************

CALL FOR PAPERS

Wireless sensor networks are expected to be the basic building block
of pervasive computing environments. Aggregating sensor nodes into
sophisticated sensing, computational and communication infrastructures
to form wireless sensor networks will have a significant impact on a
wide array of applications ranging from military, to scientific, to
industrial, to health-care, to domestic, establishing ubiquitous
computing that will pervade society redefining the way in which we
live and work.

The purpose of this workshop is to bring together the main researchers
working on different aspects of sensor networking for supporting
pervasive computing environments. This is a very challenging task, as
it involves several technological issues (sensor architectures,
efficient networking protocol design, power management, security and
dependability, etc.), as well as the socio-economic aspects related to
the introduction of such novel paradigms and their benefits for the
community. The objective of the workshop is to provide a forum to
exchange ideas, discuss solutions, and share experiences among
researchers, professionals, and application developers both from the
industry and academia.

Papers describing original research on both theoretical and practical
aspects of sensor networks for pervasive computing are solicited. We
particularly welcome submissions that present implementation and
deployment results. Particular topics of interest include, but are not
limited to:

- Sensor-based systems and applications
- Operating systems for Sensor Networks
- Middleware and software tools
- Networking architectures and protocols
- Data gathering, aggregation and dissemination
- Topology control
- Power Management and energy-efficient design
- Time synchronization
- Location management
- Sensor networks with mobile elements
- Cross-layer architectures
- Intelligent sensor nodes
- Security and dependability issues
- Modeling and performance evaluation
- Measurements

PAPER SUBMISSION

Papers should contain original material and not be previously
published, or currently submitted for consideration elsewhere.

Papers must be submitted in PDF format.
Maximum length: 6 pages.
Papers must be prepared using the template available at the following page:
http://www.computer.org/portal/web/cscps/formatting/

All submissions will be handled via EDAS.
Accepted papers will be published by the IEEE Computer Society Press
in the combined PerCom 2013 workshops proceedings. At least one
author of each accepted paper must register to PerCom 2013 (there is
no workshop-only registration) and attend the workshop to present the
paper. Failure to present the paper at the workshop will result in the
withdrawal of the paper from the Proceedings as well as from IEEE
Xplore.
