The errata is the result of an incomplete edit changing the format to NTP.
So the corrected text should be the latter one below, repeated here just to
be clear.

> The TimeStamp Sent is the time-of-day in NTP format [NTP],
> according to the sender's clock, when the MPLS echo request is sent.

Further the figure at the beginning of section 3 should be updated:

HI Guys,
Can someone help in achieving the FRR many-to-one MP concept understanding?

As per standard RFC 4090, after protected tunnel's link down,
1. we need to pass the protected tunnel's control packets through bypass
tunnel with bypass tunnel label.
2. we need to pass the protected tunnel's data traffic with two labels in
bypass tunnel.

We really don't understand here, how to map the protected tunnel with bypass
tunnel in MP in order to program the new ILM entry with two labels for
protected tunnel's data traffic POP_L3_SWITCH.
We are unable to achieve the two labels POP_L3_SWITCH without having the
seperate ILM entry.

BR
Venkat.

Kam, Scott, Eric, and all,

I have few LC comments on draft-ietf-mpls-tp-nm-req-01

General:=20
The separation between requirements of the MPLS-TP network elements
(NEs) and from the Network Management Entity is not always clear. It
would be useful to specifically note which requirements apply to NEs,
etc.

Section 4:
1. "Retrieval of DCN network parameters to ensure compatible
functioning, e.g. packet size, timeouts, quality of service, window
size, etc.; "
What is the usage of "retrieval" in this context. Shouldn't the function
support configuration of these parameters?

Section 5.1:=20
1. "The MPLS-TP NE MUST support supervision of the OAM mechanisms that
are deployed for supporting the OAM requirements defined in [3]."
The requirements are too general. It is not clear what the supervision
function should explicitly perform.

2. " . Supervision of looping check functions used to detect loops=20
in the data-plane forwarding path (which result in non-
delivery of traffic, wasting of forwarding resources and=20
            unintended self-replication of traffic);=20

. Supervision of the detection of failure in the sequence of=20
            a protocol exchange (e.g. automatic protection switching=20
            protocol); "
Again, what is explicitly required from the supervision function? =20

Section 5.2:
1. "A Fault Cause indicates a limited interruption of the required
transport function."
There is no formal definition of Fault Cause. It would be useful to add
the definition of Fault Cause to section 1.1.

2. "The failure declaration and clearing MUST be time stamped. The
time-stamp SHALL indicate the time at which the fault cause is=20
activated at the input of the fault cause persistency (i.e.
defect-to-failure integration) function, and the time at which=20
the fault cause is deactivated at the input of the fault cause
persistency function. "
It is not clear who is the target of this requirement i.e. MPLS-TP NE or
a Management System Entity?

Section 5.3.2: "An MPLS-TP NE MUST provide alarm suppression
functionality that prevents the generation of superfluous alarms. "
It would probably be better to note that alarms resulting from other
alarms should be suppressed instead of "superfluous alarms".

Section 5.3.3: "Alarm Reporting Control (ARC) supports an automatic
in-service provisioning capability. "
1. Would be useful to define the functionality of the ARC
2. Would be useful to define what exactly is required by "automatic
in-service provisioning".

Section 6.5: "	The MPLS-TP NE MUST have the flexibility to configure
OAM parameters to meet their specific operational requirements, such=20
       		 as whether (1) one-time on-demand immediately or (2)
one-time on-demand pre-scheduled or (3) on-demand periodically based on
a=20
        		specified schedule or (4) proactive on-going. "
1. It may be more appropriate to use the term "capability" instead of
"flexibility".

Thank you,
Yoav Cohen.

Hi,

Please find below my comments to this document:=20

1. This document derives its content from the management functionality
defined in the ITU-T recommendation G.7710. I suggest that it also
relates as principal source of input from the IETF ' Guidelines for
Considering Operations and Management of New Protocols and Protocol
Extensions' Internet-Draft -
http://www.ietf.org/internet-drafts/draft-ietf-opsawg-operations-and-man
agement-07.txt .=20

2. In Section 3 I do not know how to translate this requirement: ' An
MPLS-TP management network SHOULD support seamless management
connectivity ...' What is a MPLS-TP management network, is this the same
thing as an MCN? What 'seamless' means in this context?=20

3. I cannot make too much sense of section 4. It refers to ITU-T G.7712
which is a heavy architecture document, speaks about OSI and coexistence
between OSI and IP as network layer protocols and other such things.
What does this section really try to say? That in-band transport for
management information SHOULD or MUST be available and that each node of
the management network should be addressable, and its status observable?

4. In Section 7 - what does 'monitoring for signal degradation' mean? In
general I would suggest that this document reuses and refers to the
possible extent at the IPPM terminology

5. In section 7.1 - what does 'performance degradation' mean?=20

6. In section 7.2.1 - what do 'on-demand' and 'pro-active' measurement
mean?=20

7. The security consideration section must add requirements on the
management interface protocols which MUST have privacy and
authentication capabilities so that the access to the management
information is protected during day-to-day operations.=20

Dan

The 12th edition of MPLS & Ethernet World will be organized next 9 to 12
February 2010.

MPLS World and the Carrier Ethernet Workshop will once again allow delegates
to benefit from the enlightenment of the precise stakes involved in the
convergence of the MPLS & Ethernet protocols, particularly their respective
roles in the access networks.

The 2010 agenda will privilege operator and enterprises scenarios and
testimonies.
Particular attention will be paid to packet transport standards and
mechanisms, mobile backhaul and multicast issues.

A call for proposals is effective until June 30.

All,

this working group last call has ended.

We have seen quite a bit of comments, could the editors please
compile the comments and respond to them, and also when we have
agreed to resolution re-spin the draft.

/Loa
