A New Internet-Draft is available from the on-line Internet-Drafts directories.
This draft is a work item of the Network Configuration WG of the IETF.

Title : Conveying a Certificate Signing Request (CSR) in a Secure Zero Touch Provisioning (SZTP) Bootstrapping Request
        Authors : Kent Watsen
                          Russ Housley
                          Sean Turner
	Filename : draft-ietf-netconf-sztp-csr-00.txt
	Pages : 29
	Date : 2020-10-02

Abstract:
This draft extends the "get-bootstrapping-data" RPC defined in RFC
8572 to include an optional certificate signing request (CSR),
enabling a bootstrapping device to additionally obtain an identity
certificate (e.g., an LDevID, from IEEE 802.1AR) as part of the
"onboarding information" response provided in the RPC-reply.

	Date : 2020-10-02

Abstract:
This document describes an UDP-based notification mechanism to
collect data from networking devices. A shim header is proposed to
facilitate the streaming of data directly from line cards to a
collector. The objective is to rely on a lightweight approach to
allow for higher frequency and better transit performance compared to
   already established notification mechanisms.

and Control of Traffic Engineered Networks (ACTN) to Packet Optical
Integration (POI), and IP and Optical DWDM domain internetworking.

In this document, we highlight the IETF protocols and YANG data
models that may be used for the ACTN and control of POI networks,
with particular focus on the interfaces between the MDSC (Multi-
Domain Service Coordinator) and the underlying Packet and Optical
Domain Controllers (P-PNC and O-PNC) to support POI use cases.

Abstract:
This document specifies version 1.3 of the Transport Layer Security
(TLS) protocol. TLS allows client/server applications to communicate
over the Internet in a way that is designed to prevent eavesdropping,
   tampering, and message forgery.

This document updates RFCs 5705 and 6066 and obsoletes RFCs 5077,
5246, and 6961. This document also specifies new requirements for
   TLS 1.2 implementations.

A New Internet-Draft is available from the on-line Internet-Drafts directories.
This draft is a work item of the Revision of core Email specifications WG of the IETF.

Title : Simple Mail Transfer Protocol

	Pages : 108
	Date : 2020-10-06

Abstract:
This document is a specification of the basic protocol for Internet
electronic mail transport. It consolidates, updates, and clarifies
several previous documents, making all or parts of most of them
obsolete. It covers the SMTP extension mechanisms and best practices
for the contemporary Internet, but does not provide details about
particular extensions. Although SMTP was designed as a mail
transport and delivery protocol, this specification also contains
information that is important to its use as a "mail submission"
protocol for "split-UA" (User Agent) mail reading systems and mobile
environments. This document replaces the earlier version with the
   same title in RFC 5321.
[[CREF1: Note in Draft: Except for the last sentence, the above is
unchanged from 5321 and may need adjusting in the light of RFC 6409
   as an Internet Standard.]]

mail transport and message formats have evolved slowly over the
years, events and thinking in more recent years have supplemented
those core protocols with additional features and suggestions for
their use. This Applicability Statement describes the relationship
among many of those protocols and provides guidance and makes
recommendations for the use of features of the core protocols.

	Pages : 56
	Date : 2020-10-06

Abstract:
This document specifies the Internet Message Format (IMF), a syntax
for text messages that are sent between computer users, within the
framework of "electronic mail" messages. This specification is a
revision of Request For Comments (RFC) 5322, itself a revision of
Request For Comments (RFC) 2822, all of which supersede Request For
Comments (RFC) 822, "Standard for the Format of ARPA Internet Text
Messages", updating it to reflect current practice and incorporating
incremental changes that were specified in other RFCs.

A New Internet-Draft is available from the on-line Internet-Drafts directories.
This draft is a work item of the Domain Name System Operations WG of the IETF.

Title : Top-level Domains for Private Internets
        Authors : Roy Arends
                          Joe Abley
	Filename : draft-ietf-dnsop-private-use-tld-00.txt
	Pages : 10
	Date : 2020-10-08

Abstract:
There are no defined private-use namespaces in the Domain Name System
(DNS). For a domain name to be considered private-use, it needs to
be future-proof in that its top-level domain will never be delegated
from the root zone. The lack of a private-use namespace has led to
locally configured namespaces with a top-level domain that is not
   future proof.

The DNS needs an equivalent of the facilities provided by BCP 5 (RFC
1918) for private internets, i.e. a range of short, semantic-free
top-level domains that can be used in private internets without the
risk of being globally delegated from the root zone.

The ISO 3166 standard is used for the definition of eligible
designations for country-code top-level Domains. This standard is
maintained by the ISO 3166 Maintenance Agency. The ISO 3166 standard
includes a set of user-assigned code elements that can be used by
those who need to add further names to their local applications.

Because of the rules set out by ISO in their standard, it is
extremely unlikely that these user-assigned code elements would ever
conflict with delegations in the root zone under current practices.
This document explicitly reserves these code elements to be safely
used as top-level domains for private DNS resolution.

A New Internet-Draft is available from the on-line Internet-Drafts directories.
This draft is a work item of the BGP Enabled ServiceS WG of the IETF.

Title : EVPN Multi-Homing Extensions for Split Horizon Filtering
        Authors : Jorge Rabadan
                          Kiran Nagaraj

	Pages : 15
	Date : 2020-10-09

Abstract:
Ethernet Virtual Private Network (EVPN) is commonly used along with
Network Virtualization Overlay (NVO) tunnels. The EVPN multi-homing
procedures may be different depending on the NVO tunnel type used in
the EVPN Broadcast Domain. In particular, there are two multi-homing
Split Horizon procedures to avoid looped frames on the multi-homed
CE: ESI Label based and Local Bias. ESI Label based Split Horizon is
used for MPLSoX tunnels, E.g., MPLSoUDP, whereas Local Bias is used
for others, E.g., VXLAN tunnels. The current specifications do not
allow the operator to decide which Split Horizon procedure to use for
tunnel encapsulations that could support both. Examples of tunnels
that may support both procedures are MPLSoGRE, MPLSoUDP, GENEVE or
SRv6. This document extends the EVPN Multi-Homing procedures so that
an operator can decide the Split Horizon procedure for a given NVO
tunnel depending on their own requirements.

A New Internet-Draft is available from the on-line Internet-Drafts directories.
This draft is a work item of the Grant Negotiation and Authorization Protocol WG of the IETF.

Title : Grant Negotiation and Authorization Protocol
        Author : Justin Richer
	Filename : draft-ietf-gnap-core-protocol-00.txt
	Pages : 119
	Date : 2020-10-17

Abstract:
This document defines a mechanism for delegating authorization to a
piece of software, and conveying that delegation to the software.
This delegation can include access to a set of APIs as well as
information passed directly to the software.

This document has been prepared by the GNAP working group design team
of Kathleen Moriarty, Fabien Imbault, Dick Hardt, Mike Jones, and
Justin Richer. This document is intended as a starting point for the
working group and includes decision points for discussion and
agreement. Many of the features in this proposed protocol can be
accomplished in a number of ways. Where possible, the editor has
included notes and discussion from the design team regarding the
   options as understood.

A New Internet-Draft is available from the on-line Internet-Drafts directories.
This draft is a work item of the Multiparty Multimedia Session Control WG of the IETF.

Title : Using Multicast DNS to protect privacy when exposing ICE candidates
        Authors : Youenn Fablet
                          Jeroen de Borst
                          Justin Uberti

	Filename : draft-ietf-mmusic-mdns-ice-candidates-00.txt
	Pages : 18
	Date : 2020-10-19

Abstract:
WebRTC applications collect ICE candidates as part of the process of
creating peer-to-peer connections. To maximize the probability of a
direct peer-to-peer connection, client private IP addresses are
included in this candidate collection. However, disclosure of these
addresses has privacy implications. This document describes a way to
share local IP addresses with other clients while preserving client
privacy. This is achieved by concealing IP addresses with
dynamically generated Multicast DNS (mDNS) names.

Abstract:
This document provides an overview of the architecture of the L-band
Digital Aeronautical Communications System (LDACS), which provides a
secure, scalable and spectrum efficient terrestrial data link for
civil aviation. LDACS is a scheduled, reliable multi-application
cellular broadband system with support for IPv6. LDACS shall provide
a data link for IP network-based aircraft guidance. High reliability
and availability for IP connectivity over LDACS are therefore
   essential.

Abstract:
The wireless medium presents significant specific challenges to
achieve properties similar to those of wired deterministic networks.
At the same time, a number of use cases cannot be solved with wires
and justify the extra effort of going wireless. This document
presents wireless use cases demanding reliable and available

A New Internet-Draft is available from the on-line Internet-Drafts directories.
This draft is a work item of the Link State Routing WG of the IETF.

Title : Advertising L2 Bundle Member Link Attributes in OSPF
        Authors : Ketan Talaulikar
                          Peter Psenak
	Filename : draft-ietf-lsr-ospf-l2bundles-00.txt
	Pages : 10
	Date : 2020-10-29

Abstract:
There are deployments where the Layer 3 interface on which OSPF
operates is a Layer 2 interface bundle. Existing OSPF advertisements
only support advertising link attributes of the Layer 3 interface.
If entities external to OSPF wish to control traffic flows on the
individual physical links which comprise the Layer 2 interface bundle
link attribute information about the bundle members is required.

This document introduces the ability for OSPF to advertise the link
attributes of layer 2 (L2) Bundle members.

A New Internet-Draft is available from the on-line Internet-Drafts directories.
This draft is a work item of the Using TLS in Applications WG of the IETF.

Title : Recommendations for Secure Use of Transport Layer Security (TLS) and Datagram Transport Layer Security (DTLS)
        Authors : Yaron Sheffer

	Pages : 29
	Date : 2020-10-29

Abstract:
Transport Layer Security (TLS) and Datagram Transport Layer Security
(DTLS) are widely used to protect data exchanged over application
protocols such as HTTP, SMTP, IMAP, POP, SIP, and XMPP. Over the
last few years, several serious attacks on TLS have emerged,
including attacks on its most commonly used cipher suites and their
modes of operation. This document provides recommendations for
improving the security of deployed services that use TLS and DTLS.
The recommendations are applicable to the majority of use cases.

This document was published as RFC 7525 when the industry was in the
midst of its transition to TLS 1.2. Years later this transition is
largely complete and TLS 1.3 is widely available. Given the new
environment, we believe new guidance is needed.

A New Internet-Draft is available from the on-line Internet-Drafts directories.
This draft is a work item of the TCP Maintenance and Minor Extensions WG of the IETF.

Title : YANG Model for Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) Configuration
        Authors : Michael Scharf
                          Vishal Murgai
                          Mahesh Jethanandani

	Pages : 19
	Date : 2020-10-29

Abstract:
This document specifies a YANG model for TCP on devices that are
configured by network management protocols. The YANG model defines a
container for all TCP connections and groupings of some of the
parameters that can be imported and used in TCP implementations or by
other models that need to configure TCP parameters. The model
includes definitions from YANG Groupings for TCP Client and TCP
Servers (I-D.ietf-netconf-tcp-client-server). The model is NMDA (RFC
   8342) compliant.
