The ISMS (Integrated Security Model for SNMP) working group has
been chaired by Juergen Schoenwaelder, and it recently completed
its major deliverables for securing SNMP with SSH. The group is=20
now planning to take on new work, including obtaining VACM
authorization information via RADIUS, and specifying TLS/DTLS=20
based transport for SNMP.

However, Juergen will not be able to attend at least IETF76 and
IETF77, and we're looking for a co-chair.

If you would like to be considered for this position, or know
someone you think would be interested, please contact Tim and me
directly. We are also open to considering new blood; i.e., someone
who hasn't been a WG chair before. Co-chairing a WG is a great way
to learn new things and serve the IETF community -- so please=20
volunteer!

Best regards,
Pasi & Tim

I do not remember having seen any comments or responses on this issue.=20

Taking silence as agreement, I suggest that one of the editors writes a
proto write-up and submits the document to the OPS AD of your choice.=20

Thanks. Please continue to follow as there will be changes until the
meeting. We are asking all presenters to submit materials in advance,
and we usually succeed to get most of the materials in place at the time
of the meeting - follow the meeting information at

This is an IAB document, so it goes through a different type of review
cycle.=20

I think the issues raised by this document have operational
implications. I would suggest that OPS-DIR assigns a reviewer for this
and also invite comments from the OPSAREA community.=20

Considered Harmful"=20

The IAB intends to publish the following document and invites any
comments you might have:

"Uncoordinated Protocol Development Considered Harmful"
 http://tools.ietf.org/html/draft-iab-mpls-tp-uncoord-harmful-00

Abstract

This document identifies various types of damage that may occur
without formal coordination and joint development on protocols of
mutual interest between standards development organizations. The IAB
has selected T-MPLS as recent case study to describe hazard to both
the MPLS and Internet architecture as a result of uncoordinated
  adaptation of a protocol.

This experience has resulted in a considerable improvement in the
relationship between the two organisations. In particular, this was
achieved via the establishment of the "Joint working team on MPLS-TP"
which was the first ever joint ITU/IETF group. In addition, the
leadership of the two organisations have agreed to improve inter-
organizational working practices so as to avoid conflict in future
between ITU-T Recommendations and IETF RFCs.

Please provide your feedback before June 28, 2009.

For the IAB,

--Olaf Kolkman
 IAB Chair

Dear all,

A new version of the IPFIX structured is in the process of being posted
(manual post requested)
Note: as requested by Dan in the OPS-AREA meeting minutes, I'll include
OPS-AREA in the email

Most of the points discussed during both the IPFIX and OPS-AREA meetings
were addressed.
- more justifications why we need this structured data type and why
appropriate protocols are not suitable
- less focus on security. More example related to IPFIX, such as list of
interfaces in a multicast flow, such as the MPLS label stack entry,
- discussion about the recursive structured data
- connection with the current IPFIX mediation function work.
- connection with the one-way delay export, specified in PSAMP
- Example of an aggregated observation point in a mediation function,
which might be needed as a scope in an options template record
- etc...

As always, your feedback is welcome

Regards, Benoit.
