I read this draft and I am not sure that it is ready for adoption as working
group item. The draft seems to be doing 2 different things, 1) defining a MIB
for RELOAD and 2) using RELOAD to find the network manager. For 1) I think
that the MIB as defined exposes only a very small set of data, and needs to be
extended. For 2) I must say that I do not really understand the mechanism.

So this draft needs more work but I am not sure what WG adoption will get us.
The energy in the WG is very low, and I think that this energy should be
better used WGLCing the existing WG drafts (as promised back in Quebec City),
and adopting drafts that are in better shape, like SHARE/DISCO.

Meanwhile I am willing to do a complete review of the document some time in
the future.

draft-ietf-p2psip-base-21, section 11.1:

" Any configuration
file through the overlay (as opposed to directly from the
configuration server) MUST be signed by one of the configure-signers
from the previous extant configuration. Recipients MUST verify the
signature prior to accepting the configuration file."

This text implies that configuration file coming from the configuration server
does not need to be signed. But in this case how can a recipient receive a
signed configuration file through the overlay?

Let's say that Node A joined with an unsigned configuration file with sequence
9, retrieved from the configuration server. Later the configuration server is
updated with a configuration file with sequence 10. Node B wants to join, so
retrieve configuration #10, then receives a request from A, which it rejects
before sending a ConfigUpdate with configuration #10. B cannot verify it
because it is unsigned. So does not that imply that a configuration file
coming from the configuration server MUST be signed?

The only case that could work is if the only nodes that can propagate a new
configuration file are the configuration-signerS. In this case they can
retrieve the new configuration file and sign it before sending the
ConfigUpdate. Was that the intent of this text?

Nit in the same paragraph:

s/one of the configure-signers/one of the configuration-signer/

Hi,

Following up on the consensus call:
http://www.ietf.org/mail-archive/web/p2psip/current/msg06232.html

There is not enough interest and consensus (In favor: +2, Against: +1)
within the P2PSIP WG to adopt I-D draft-peng-p2psip-snmp-04 as a working
group document in its current shape.

We suggest the authors to consider the feedback received, revise the
draft, and get at least a couple of additional reviews before
considering it again for WG adoption.

A New Internet-Draft is available from the on-line Internet-Drafts director=
ies.
This draft is a work item of the Peer-to-Peer Session Initiation Protocol =
Working Group of the IETF.

Title : A Self-tuning Distributed Hash Table (DHT) for REsource =
LOcation And Discovery (RELOAD)
	Author(s) : Jouni Maenpaa
                          Gonzalo Camarillo
                          Jani Hautakorpi
	Filename : draft-ietf-p2psip-self-tuning-06.txt
	Pages : 21
	Date : 2012-07-16

Abstract:
REsource LOcation And Discovery (RELOAD) is a peer-to-peer (P2P)
signaling protocol that provides an overlay network service. Peers
in a RELOAD overlay network collectively run an overlay algorithm to
organize the overlay, and to store and retrieve data. This document
describes how the default topology plugin of RELOAD can be extended
to support self-tuning, that is, to adapt to changing operating
conditions such as churn and network size.

A New Internet-Draft is available from the on-line Internet-Drafts director=
ies.
This draft is a work item of the Peer-to-Peer Session Initiation Protocol =
Working Group of the IETF.

Title : REsource LOcation And Discovery (RELOAD) Base Protocol
	Author(s) : Cullen Jennings
                          Bruce B. Lowekamp
                          Eric Rescorla
                          Salman A. Baset
                          Henning Schulzrinne
	Filename : draft-ietf-p2psip-base-22.txt
	Pages : 167
	Date : 2012-07-16

Abstract:
This specification defines REsource LOcation And Discovery (RELOAD),
a peer-to-peer (P2P) signaling protocol for use on the Internet. A
P2P signaling protocol provides its clients with an abstract storage
and messaging service between a set of cooperating peers that form
the overlay network. RELOAD is designed to support a P2P Session
Initiation Protocol (P2PSIP) network, but can be utilized by other
applications with similar requirements by defining new usages that
specify the kinds of data that must be stored for a particular
application. RELOAD defines a security model based on a certificate
enrollment service that provides unique identities. NAT traversal is
a fundamental service of the protocol. RELOAD also allows access
from "client" nodes that do not need to route traffic or store data
   for others.

What was the reason for passing the username and password as form parameter
instead of using an Authorization headers? Using Authorization would have
permit to return 401 for a failed authorization and would have permit to use
other authentication methods.
