1. The minutes about the beginning of the WG session are missing, i.e. the
part about the timeline of WGLCs for the following drafts:

- - draft-ietf-p2psip-drr
- - draft-ietf-p2psip-rpr
- - draft-ietf-p2psip-self-tuning
- - draft-ietf-p2psip-service-discovery
- - draft-ietf-p2psip-concepts
- - draft-ietf-p2psip-diagnostics

2. "DISCO and SHARE documents. This will be adopted as WG items, subject
to confirmation on the list."

Aren't we in circular loop here? This was discussed and adopted in Paris,
then discussed in the list.

3. Because publication of updates for draft-ietf-p2psip-base tends to be, hmm,
unpredictable implementers cannot count on it so I'd rather have a good list
of what exactly was decided during the session:

3.1. "Slide 2: EKR disagrees with the proposed solution."

The text will be clarified to say that the hash does contain the length prefix.

3.2. "Slide 3: agreed to make everything based on 1."

3rd paragraph will be changed to "search
through the finger table entries from i=1 and ..."

3.3. "Slide 4: It is agreed to delete multicast."

Everything related to multicast, anycast and broadcast will be removed from
the draft, so there is no need for naked Ping.

3.4. "Slide 6: Cullen thinks there is nothing to update in the draft. Marc
agrees. That needs to be checked with Michale."

I do not remember agreeing with this (but I agreed that Michael should listen
to Cullen's explanations).

3.5. "Slide 7: Agreed."

"Connection table" to be replaced with "Neighbor table" in 10.7.4.1.

3.6. "Slide 8: The text will change to say that the configuration file will
always be signed. EKR: Read the configuration file, get the key out of
it, ... Agreement to update the draft."

Configuration files retrieved from the configuration server are *always* signed.

3.7. "Slide 11: Cullen. We may need something more specific:
"reload-config". Agreed."

The agreed path is "/.well-known/reload-config"

Thanks.

Well, this was supposed to be covered by "The chairs go through the WG
status.", as Brian basically went through the slides. Would it be enough
if we modify it to say "The chairs go through the WG status slides."?

It's true that was discussed in Paris and we had the call on the list
before Vancouver. I think Brian mentioned the confirmation on the list
because at that time we had not yet notified the adoption on the list.
I'll modify the minutes to say "DISCO and SHARE documents. These will be
adopted as WG items."

Hi,

Hereby we are issuing a WGLC for draft-ietf-p2psip-drr-02.

The WGLC will be open till the 3rd of September to give enough time for
people to review considering the summer break. We kindly ask the WG to
review the document and provide comments.

If you have no comments and think the document is ready to be submitted
to IESG, please do send a note stating that to the WG ML.

Additional information about the document is below:

Title : An extension to RELOAD to support Direct
Response Routing
        Author(s) : Ning Zong
                          Xingfeng Jiang
                          Roni Even
                          Yunfei Zhang
        Filename : draft-ietf-p2psip-drr-02.txt
        Pages : 18
        Date : 2012-05-29

This document proposes an optional extension to RELOAD to support
direct response routing mode. RELOAD recommends symmetric recursive
routing for routing messages. The new optional extension provides a
shorter route for responses reducing the overhead on intermediary
peers and describes the potential cases where this extension can be
   used.

I was not sure that I got the order of the WGLCs right during the meeting,
especially with -diagnostics moved up, but now that I see that -drr and -rpr
are WGLCed, as promised, I think the text is fine.

Thanks again for resolving these quickly.

The plan (not 100% confirmed) after some discussion with our AD is to
issue WGLC of -diagnostics after -drr and -rpr, and then self-tuning,
and service-discovery.

This draft is a work item of the Peer-to-Peer Session Initiation Protocol =
Working Group of the IETF.

	Title : P2PSIP Overlay Diagnostics
	Author(s) : Song Haibin
                          Jiang Xingfeng

	Pages : 29
	Date : 2012-08-08

Abstract:
This document describes mechanisms for P2PSIP diagnostics. It
defines extensions to the RELOAD P2PSIP base protocol RELOAD
[I-D.ietf-p2psip-base] to collect diagnostic information, and details
the protocol specifications for these extensions. Useful diagnostic
information for connection and node status monitoring is also
defined. The document also describes the usage scenarios and
provides examples of how these methods are used to perform
diagnostics in a P2PSIP overlay networks.

-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----
Hash: SHA256

We plan to organize a RELOAD interoperability event in Berlin, Germany on July
27 and 28 2013 (the Saturday and Sunday just before IETF 87). This is an
early announcement to give enough time to people to work on their
implementation. We have an agreement on principle for where the interop event
will take place, and am happy to announce that this time we will have Internet
access for the two days. I will send periodical reminders but the full
details will be available after IETF 86.

Face to face events are great for new implementations or to test complex
scenarios, but remote testing is also useful for more mature implementations.
So I would like to also announce the availability of a new service that
provides virtual RELOAD configuration and enrollment servers. This is a free
service for RELOAD implementers that want to test their implementation
remotely against other implementations. More details are available here:

http://blog.marc.petit-huguenin.org/2012/08/a-configuration-and-enrollment-service.html

Both of the routing drafts (rpr and drr) are drafts I've supported for
a long while. I took a peek at the most recent versions, and they
definitely appear ready to submit to me.

In summary, there is a use case for RELOAD that would benefit from having an
Extended Key Usage (RFC 5280) defined and enforced by RELOAD implementations.

Here's the use case: An enrollment server as defined by section 11.3
generates certificates that are used by a RELOAD implementation as client and
server certificates for the purpose of establishing (D)TLS links, and to sign
RELOAD messages and data. An enrollment server will also probably need an OAM
interface, e.g. to provision the username/password, and one natural way to
design this API is by using a RESTful API over HTTPS. Obviously access to this
API must be restricted and one way of doing this is by using client
certificate. Buying a certificate that can be used to sign client
certificates is expensive, so an alternate way is to use a self-signed
certificate as CA for this purpose (the server certificate still need to be
signed by a trusted CA), which mean that there is two self-signed CA
certificates per overlay, one for signing RELOAD certificates, and a second
one for signing HTTPS certificates. Having a RELOAD Extended Key Usage added
in each RELOAD certificate and having all RELOAD implementations verifying
that the certificates used contain this usage will permit to use the same
self-signed CA certificate for signing both RELOAD certificates and HTTPS
certificates.

Reducing the number of self-signed certificates from two to one does not seem
that useful until one is developing an application that require to allocate a
different overlay to each user.

There is one use case where enforcing a RELOAD Extended Key Usage can be a
problem: There is usages of RELOAD where an Overlay Link Layer using
Websocket over HTTPS could be useful, in which case an existing Websocket
implementation would probably reject a connection that is using a RELOAD
certificate. That can easily be solved by using code that is specific to RELOAD.

So is there some support to have something this? If yes, should it be added
to -base, or developed as an extension?

Thanks.
