A New Internet-Draft is available from the on-line Internet-Drafts director=
ies.
This draft is a work item of the Peer-to-Peer Session Initiation Protocol =
Working Group of the IETF.

Title : Service Discovery Usage for REsource LOcation And Discov=
ery (RELOAD)
	Author(s) : Jouni Maenpaa
                          Gonzalo Camarillo
	Filename : draft-ietf-p2psip-service-discovery-06.txt
	Pages : 15
	Date : 2012-10-01

Abstract:
REsource LOcation and Discovery (RELOAD) does not define a generic
service discovery mechanism as part of the base protocol. This
document defines how the Recursive Distributed Rendezvous (ReDiR)
service discovery mechanism used in OpenDHT can be applied to RELOAD
overlays to provide a generic service discovery mechanism.

A New Internet-Draft is available from the on-line Internet-Drafts director=
ies.
This draft is a work item of the Peer-to-Peer Session Initiation Protocol =
Working Group of the IETF.

Title : A Usage for Shared Resources in RELOAD (ShaRe)
	Author(s) : Alexander Knauf
                          Thomas C. Schmidt
                          Gabriel Hege

	Filename : draft-ietf-p2psip-share-00.txt
	Pages : 23
	Date : 2012-10-09

Abstract:
This document defines a RELOAD Usage for managing shared write access
to RELOAD Resources. Shared Resources in RELOAD (ShaRe) form a basic
primitive for enabling various coordination and notification schemes
among distributed peers. Access in ShaRe is controlled by a
hierarchical trust delegation scheme maintained within an access
list. A new USER-CHAIN-ACL access policy allows authorized peers to
write a Shared Resource without owning its corresponding certificate.
This specification also adds mechanisms to store Resources with a
variable name which is useful whenever peer-independent rendezvous
   processes are required.

	Date : 2012-10-09

Abstract:
This document defines a RELOAD Usage for Distributed Conference
Control (DisCo) with SIP. DisCo preserves conference addressing
through a single SIP URI by splitting its semantic of identifier and
locator using a new Kind data structure. Conference members are
enabled to select conference controllers based on proximity awareness
and to recover from failures of individual resource instances. DisCo
proposes call delegation to balance the load at focus peers.

FYI, this is the draft about Extended Key Usage for RELOAD certificates, as
discussed on this mailing-list.

I'll ask for time to present this at the meeting in Atlanta, but please do not
hesitate to send your comments, questions and suggestions to the mailing-list.

Thanks.

People who attended the VIPR working group meeting in Paris may remember that
one slide of my presentation on the privacy issues listed a series of steps
that would permit to use a RELOAD overlay anonymously.

This draft contains a more detailed and complete explanation of a mechanism
that can be deployed in an overlay to permit some or all the nodes to store
and/or retrieve data anonymously. The draft also describes an end-to-end
encryption method that can be used when anonymously using AppAttach is not
good enough for an application.

I will ask for presenting time during the WG session in Atlanta.

Please note that an IPR disclosure has been filed for this draft, and should
appear in the coming days.

Thanks.

A New Internet-Draft is available from the on-line Internet-Drafts director=
ies.
This draft is a work item of the Peer-to-Peer Session Initiation Protocol =
Working Group of the IETF.

Title : An extension to RELOAD to support Direct Response Routing
	Author(s) : Ning Zong
                          Xingfeng Jiang
                          Roni Even
                          Yunfei Zhang
	Filename : draft-ietf-p2psip-drr-03.txt
	Pages : 18
	Date : 2012-10-22

Abstract:
This document proposes an optional extension to RELOAD to support
direct response routing mode. RELOAD recommends symmetric recursive
routing for routing messages. The new optional extension provides a
shorter route for responses reducing the overhead on intermediary
peers and describes the potential cases where this extension can be
   used.

First of all, I do not think that changing relatively often the configuration
file is a bad thing - that certainly would exercise part of an implementation
that will be required to work perfectly in case of problem - for example to
blacklist nodes, change a signer certificate or even change the CA certificate.

Then, at least for the usage of SOFTWARE_VERSION that I foresee, there should
not be a need for too many modifications of the list of nodes authorized to
query this value. My main use case for SOFTWARE_VERSION is to check that
RELOAD implementations in an overlay do not come from the same vendor, so a
problem during an software upgrade cannot kill the whole overlay. This
function will be initiated by nodes that are under the control of the same
people who manage the bootstrap and enrollment servers, servers that are part
of the configuration file. So I do not expect more updates related to this
function than there could be for maintaining the enrollment and bootstrap servers.

>> Another option is for each Kind, just stored these signed IDs as a value
>> in the overlay.

That would require that the node does a Fetch before responding to a
SOFTWARE_VERSION query.
