This is a reminder, sent out once a month, about your ietf.org mailing
list memberships. It includes your subscription info and how to use
it to change it or unsubscribe from a list.

You can visit the URLs to change your membership status or
configuration, including unsubscribing, setting digest-style delivery
or disabling delivery altogether (e.g., for a vacation), and so on.

In addition to the URL interfaces, you can also use email to make such
changes. For more info, send a message to the '-request' address of
the list (for example, policy-request@ietf.org) containing just the
word 'help' in the message body, and an email message will be sent to
you with instructions.

If you have questions, problems, comments, etc, send them to
mailman-owner@. Thanks!

Please note that the following draft, "Policy Core LDAP Schema" is now
available in the IETF Internet Draft Repository:

http://www.ietf.org/internet-drafts/draft-ietf-policy-core-schema-15.txt

I have also sent a note to our Area Director, Bert Wijnen, requesting
that he forward this draft to the IESG for consideration as a proposed
standard, since the authors have incorporated the changes requested as a
result of the IESG review of the previous draft (-14).

The changes were mainly to do with format and how documents were
referenced , plus there were a few fixes associated with technical
errors/omissions. None of these justify another working group last
call.

Thanks to all who helped!

Ed Ellesson

A New Internet-Draft is available from the on-line Internet-Drafts directories.
This draft is a work item of the Policy Framework Working Group of the IETF.

Title : Policy Core LDAP Schema
	Author(s)	: J. Strassner, E. Ellesson, R. Moore, R. Moats
	Filename	: draft-ietf-policy-core-schema-15.txt
	Pages : 57
	Date : 2002-8-30

This document defines a mapping of the Policy Core Information Model [1]
to a form that can be implemented in a directory that uses LDAP as its
access protocol. This model defines two hierarchies of object classes:
structural classes representing information for representing and
controlling policy data as specified in RFC3060, and relationship
classes that indicate how instances of the structural classes are
related to each other. Classes are also added to the LDAP schema to
improve the performance of a client's interactions with an LDAP server
when the client is retrieving large amounts of policy-related
information. These classes exist only to optimize LDAP retrievals:
there are no classes in the information model that correspond to them.

A URL for this Internet-Draft is:
http://www.ietf.org/internet-drafts/draft-ietf-policy-core-schema-15.txt

To remove yourself from the IETF Announcement list, send a message to
ietf-announce-request with the word unsubscribe in the body of the message.

Internet-Drafts are also available by anonymous FTP. Login with the username
"anonymous" and a password of your e-mail address. After logging in,
type "cd internet-drafts" and then
	"get draft-ietf-policy-core-schema-15.txt".

A list of Internet-Drafts directories can be found in
http://www.ietf.org/shadow.html
or ftp://ftp.ietf.org/ietf/1shadow-sites.txt

Internet-Drafts can also be obtained by e-mail.

Send a message to:
	mailserv@ietf.org.
In the body type:
	"FILE /internet-drafts/draft-ietf-policy-core-schema-15.txt".

NOTE:	The mail server at ietf.org can return the document in
MIME-encoded form by using the "mpack" utility. To use this
feature, insert the command "ENCODING mime" before the "FILE"
command. To decode the response(s), you will need "munpack" or
a MIME-compliant mail reader. Different MIME-compliant mail readers
exhibit different behavior, especially when dealing with
"multipart" MIME messages (i.e. documents which have been split
up into multiple messages), so check your local documentation on
	how to manipulate these messages.

Below is the data which will enable a MIME compliant mail reader
implementation to automatically retrieve the ASCII version of the
Internet-Draft.

Ed,

Thanks for keeping us apprised of the recent progress of PCLS. Your messages
of 7/16, 8/12, 8/16, 8/30, and 9/02 indicated vigorous activity and
suggested
that PCLS may be approaching its goal.

What's the latest? Did Bert agee to forward the draft to the IESG for
consideration
as a proposed standard? Can you estimate a date of RFC publication?
