The Domain Name System (DNS) is defined in literally dozens of
different RFCs. The terminology used by implementers and developers
of DNS protocols, and by operators of DNS systems, has sometimes
changed in the decades since the DNS was first defined. This
document gives current definitions for many of the terms used in the
DNS in a single document.

This document obsoletes RFC 7719 and updates RFC 2308.

This document is a product of the Domain Name System Operations Working Group of the IETF.

BCP: This document specifies an Internet Best Current Practices for the

This document adds a new capability called "SAVEDATE" to the Internet
Message Access Protocol (IMAP). It defines a new IMAP message
attribute called "save date" that, unlike the existing "internal
date" attribute, always indicates the moment at which the message was
saved in its current mailbox. The SAVEDATE capability extends the
FETCH command with the means to retrieve the save date attribute and
extends the SEARCH command to allow using the save date attribute in
searching criteria.

The Domain Name System (DNS) specifies a query type (QTYPE) "ANY".
The operator of an authoritative DNS server might choose not to
respond to such queries for reasons of local policy, motivated by
security, performance, or other reasons.

The DNS specification does not include specific guidance for the
behavior of DNS servers or clients in this situation. This document
aims to provide such guidance.

This document updates RFCs 1034 and 1035.

Every OSPF interface is assigned an Interface ID that uniquely
identifies the interface on the router. In some cases, it is useful
to know the assigned Interface ID on the remote side of the adjacency
(Remote Interface ID).

This document describes the extensions to OSPF link-local signaling
(LLS) to advertise the Local Interface ID.

This document is a product of the Link State Routing Working Group of the IETF.

This is now a Proposed Standard.

STANDARDS TRACK: This document specifies an Internet Standards Track
protocol for the Internet community, and requests discussion and suggestions
for improvements. Please refer to the current edition of the Official
Internet Protocol Standards (https://www.rfc-editor.org/standards) for the
standardization state and status of this protocol. Distribution of this
memo is unlimited.

This announcement is sent to the IETF-Announce and rfc-dist lists.

Requests for special distribution should be addressed to either the
author of the RFC in question, or to rfc-editor@rfc-editor.org. Unless
specifically noted otherwise on the RFC itself, all RFCs are for
unlimited distribution.

This document defines requirements for IPv6 nodes. It is expected
that IPv6 will be deployed in a wide range of devices and situations.
Specifying the requirements for IPv6 nodes allows IPv6 to function
well and interoperate in a large number of situations and
deployments.

This document obsoletes RFC 6434, and in turn RFC 4294.

This document is a product of the IPv6 Maintenance Working Group of the IETF.
