Submitting Comments via TRAC=20
1. To submit an issue in TRAC, you first need to login to the IAB site =
on the tools server:=20
http://tools.ietf.org/wg/iab/trac/login=20
=20
2. If you don't already have a login ID, you can obtain one by =
navigating to this site:=20
http://trac.tools.ietf.org/newlogin=20
=20
3. Once you have obtained an account, and have logged in, you can file =
an issue by navigating to the ticket entry form:=20
http://trac.tools.ietf.org/wg/iab/trac/newticket=20
=20
4. When opening an issue:=20
a. The Type: field should be set to "defect" for an issue with the =
current document text, or "enhancement" for a proposed addition of =
functionality (such as an additional requirement).=20
b. The Priority: field is set based on the severity of the Issue. For =
example, editorial issues are typically "minor" or "trivial".=20
c. The Milestone: field should be set to milestone1 (useless, I know).=20
d. The Component: field should be set to the document you are filing the =
issue on.=20
e. The Version: field should be set to "1.0".=20
f. The Severity: field should be set to based on the status of the =
document (e.g. "In WG Last Call" for a document in IAB last call)=20
g. The Keywords: and CC: fields can be left blank unless inspiration =
seizes you.=20
h. The Assign To: field is generally filled in with the email address of =
the editor.=20
=20
5. Typically it won't be necessary to enclose a file with the ticket, =
but if you need to, select "I have files to attach to this ticket".=20
=20
6. If you want to preview your Issue, click on the "Preview" button. =
When you're ready to submit the issue, click on the "Create Ticket" =
button.=20
=20
7. If you want to update an issue, go to the "View Tickets" page:=20
http://trac.tools.ietf.org/wg/iab/trac/report/1=20
=20

AB,

I can't control the IAB. I might wish I could, but there we go :-)

I am sure that if there is not enough time for you to get your comments in, and
yet you have a definite date by which you plan to make comments, you could tell
the IAB and ask permission to submit comments late.

Adrian

The Nominations Committee is seeking further feedback on potential =
candidates for the TSV Area Director position.

Please be sure to give them any opinions you have on the matter.

The timeline is short.

Hi,

Stewart and I will hold office hours on Tuesday from 11.30(ish) to 13.00. Not
sure how lunch will be working, but we will try to grab something that we can
eat while you talk to us.

(Moved from the usual Sunday afternoon to avoid a conflict with the IAOC's
tutorial and open-house).

Meeting room will be the IESG Office.

Thanks,
Adrian and Stewart

Hi,

The IAB are taking nominations for their appointment to the ISOC Board of
Trustees.

See their announcement at:
https://www.ietf.org/ibin/c5i?mid=6&rid=49&gid=0&k1=934&k2=11676&tid=1361477230

Is this a job you could do? Do you know someone who could do this job?

Thanks,
Adrian

Hi,

In the Routing Area meeting in Orlando we will continue our occasional series of
discussions of "routing in other areas". In this case we will spend some time
on "Trust Routers".

Although this topic is not about routing packets, the tree construction and
"shortest" path computations have some resemblance to BGP and other routing
protocols, and there are also similarities to the SIP routing issues that we
heard about a while back. The authors say it would interesting to get some
routing folks involved to make sure we avoid the well-understood pitfalls with
those sorts of algorithms. It looks to me to me that there are many
commonalities of functional concept even if the environment (i.e. application
space) is free of many of the constraints we see on routers.

As background reading, you might like to look at:
http://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/

You can also look at two older (i.e., expired) drafts:
http://tools.ietf.org/html/draft-howlett-abfab-trust-router-ps-02
http://tools.ietf.org/html/draft-mrw-abfab-multihop-fed-02

Thanks,
Adrian

This should be:

http://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/draft-mrw-abfab-trust-router/

For those of you who are unfamiliar with Application Bridging Beyond the =
Web (abfab), you might also wish to look at the abfab architecture =
document to understand the environment in which the Trust Router is =
intended to work. It can be found here:

Hi Folks,

I have a question regarding the WG under the Routing Area,

There was one protocol DFF sent to IESG and mentioned that there was
no WG that relates to it, which I think it was 6Lowpan. I got a
respond that this WG may not accept new drafts. Please advise why? and
When/where was the decision made, or how to track such decision in the
Routing Area?

AFAIK, 6LoWPAN is not a routing area WG, so I guess you will have more luck a=
sking elsewhere (say, the AD overseeing 6LoWPAN).=20
