This is a reminder, sent out once a month, about your ietf.org mailing
list memberships. It includes your subscription info and how to use
it to change it or unsubscribe from a list.

You can visit the URLs to change your membership status or
configuration, including unsubscribing, setting digest-style delivery
or disabling delivery altogether (e.g., for a vacation), and so on.

In addition to the URL interfaces, you can also use email to make such
changes. For more info, send a message to the '-request' address of
the list (for example, mailman-request@ietf.org) containing just the
word 'help' in the message body, and an email message will be sent to
you with instructions.

Hello, I have some BFD implementation questions:

1. Section 6.6.2 specifies in the last paragraph that a '... Control packet
with the Poll (P) bit clear and the Final (F) bit set...' MUST be sent as a
result of receiving a packet with the poll bit set. And later, in section
6.6.3, the 3rd paragraph states that if the intervals are changed, '... all
subsequent transmitted Control packets MUST be sent with the Poll (P) bit set
until a packet is received with the Final (F) bit set.' It is not clear to
me how to implement these seemingly contradictory statements.

2. While I am not sure that the document specifically states this, it appears
to me that the poll and final bits should only be set when in the up state?

Any clarification of these issues would be much appreciated.

Thanks,

Chris
