Hi!

The IETF functions best when there is a robust and diverse pipeline of cand=
idates in WG leadership positions. Ben and I would like to have a pool of =
candidates to select from when any WG chair positions need to be filled. S=
uch a pool lets us tailor a match between the position, and the skills and =
potential of the candidates in question.=20

We're sending this note to make sure we've got the broadest pool available =
for future WG chair assignments. If you are interested in chairing, or kno=
w someone interested in chairing, please email us privately. Chairs with p=
revious experience are great. No prior experience is also fine as we often=
pair experienced chairs with those new to the role. If you previously res=
ponded to calls such as this [1] [2], we would still like to hear from you =
again to confirm your interest.

Thanks, and looking forward to talking to you.

Regards,
Roman and Ben

Hi Roman, Ben,

Just resurrecting this thread from a few months back.=20

Do you know if there will be any updates or progress on this new WG by IETF=
-113?

Thanks,
Panos

Hi

I think the charter looks fine.

Thanks

Hi!

We've heard this confusion on using the "maintenance" short hand to charact=
erize this potential body of work. The intent was what Panos described - a=
short hand where the "maintenance" was on existing IETF protocol to allow =
it to benefit from PQC mechanisms.

The proposed, templated charter language more precisely captures the intent=
-- "The [Planned WG Name] working group ([Planned WG Acronym]) is chartere=
d as a WG to analyze, adapt or update IETF protocols, registries, and assoc=
iated code points with PQ cryptographic mechanisms." (https://github.com/rd=

"PQ maintenance" from the header of the templated charter. It now reads "=
PQC Agility WG". The term didn't appear in the charter text itself. Howev=

Maybe maintenance is the wrong word, but the point is to have a WG for orph=
aned (without a WG) protocols like CURDLE was for Curve25519/448.

I find the concept of post-quantum *maintenance* very strange.
