Hello,

I'm new here, so I don't know if this topic has already been discussed.

We have problems with getting cyrus-sasl to work on our Sun Solaris 7
system.

The package compiles but the authentication with sasl-PAM (cyrus) does not
work.

In /var/adm/messages we found the following entries:

Feb 13 17:28:30 xxx.xxx.xxx imapd[1598]: unable to dlopen
/usr/lib/sasl/libgssapiv2.so: ld.so.1: imapd: fatal: relocation error:
file /usr/lib/sasl/libgssapiv2.so: symbol GSS_C_NT_HOSTBASED_SERVICE:
referenced symbol not found

The link /usr/lib/sasl --> /usr/local/lib/sasl exists.

Our system:
SunOS Release 5.7 Version Generic_106541-04 64-bit [UNIX(R)
System V Release 4.0]

Compiler:
# gcc -v Reading specs from
/usr/local/lib/gcc-lib/sparc-sun-solaris2.7/2.95.2/specs gcc version
2.95.2 19991024 (release)

(Other packages e.g. ssh, apache, openssl, sendmail... do compile and run
without any problem)

We tried a lot of different compiling options, but there was no chance to
solve the problem, so I ask you for hints that could solve the problem.

thanks

I am not sure but it may be that cyrus-sasl detects the psoriasis
gssapi library which I suspect is not entirely compatible with the
MIT or Heimdal implementations ;-) I am not sure that it uses kerberos
at all. Please send me the config.log and config.cache from cyrus-sasl.
In any case you should be able to disable gssapi support from cyrus-sasl
and run with the rest of the mechanisms wo problems.

	Cheers Leif
