Call for Papers -- Feature Topic, Vol.11, No.2, 2014=20

Software-Defined Networking

=20

http://www.chinacommunications.cn/EN/news/news668.shtml

=20

=20

A major recent development in computer networking is the emergence of
Software Defined Networking (SDN), whose goal is to provide a =
centralized,
programmable control plane that is decoupled from the distributed data
planes on individual network devices. In particular, the development of
OpenFlow has demonstrated many potential benefits of SDN, and multiple
vendors have started to offer commercial switches supporting the =
OpenFlow
standard. Researchers have also made progress on SDN components =
including
SDN controllers, switches, programming interfaces, verification and =
debugger
tools, and SDN applications in data center network, campus network, =
routing,
and traffic engineering. Despite the progress, many important questions
regarding SDN still remain. The goal of this Feature Topic is to explore
research and developments related to SDN to further its state of art.

=20

Focusing on the development of SDN, China Communications calls for =
papers to
the persons interested in this area.

=20

SUBMISSION GUIDANCE

China Communications seeks original, UNPUBLISHED research papers =
reporting
substantive new work in various aspects of software-defined networks. =
Papers
MUST clearly indicate your contributions to the field of =
software-defined
networks and properly cite related work in this field.

=20

Papers should be submitted in two separate .doc files (preferred) or =

ABOUT CHINA COMMUNICATIONS

China Communications (ISSN 1673-5447) is the only English-language =
magazine
of communications field in China. It is officially published monthly by =
the
China Institute of Communications (CIC) towards research institutes,
universities, enterprises and governmental authorities in the field of
Information and Communications Technologies (ICTs) all over the world.=20

=20

Aiming at promoting worldwide exchange in the ICTs sector, a Memorandum =
of
Understanding has been conducted in November, 2011 by and between CIC =
and
the IEEE Communications Society (ComSoc); both parties are committed to
publishing high-quality papers in China Communications to contribute to =
the
global ICTs industry starting from January 2013. The publication will
provide instant access to the latest articles and papers presenting
leading-edge development of academic research as well as significant
technical evolutions in practice.

=20

China Communications has been included in the THOMSON REUTERS MASTER =
JOURNAL
LIST (formerly known as ISI =A1=B0Philadelphia List=A1=B1), namely SCIE =
(Science
Citation Index-Expanded) index since January, 2007. It has also been
included in Scopus database since January, 2009. In addition, all =
articles
have been available in the IEEE Xplore beginning January, 2013.

For those of you who haven't noticed the message from Steve Young in
your In box, mail to all IETF lists between 15:30 and and 20:55 Pacific
Time yesterday seems to have been lost. Aside from needing to re-send
all mail you personally sent during that time period, you also need to
inform your working groups.

Dear All,

Apologies if you received multiple copies of this CFP.

========================================================================================

IEEE Consumer Communications and Networking Conference (CCNC), 2014

CFP for Special session on Network Function Virtualization

========================================================================================

Network Function Virtualization (NFV) has gained considerable attention
both in academia and industry. This special session calls for recent
research, practical experiences, and development lessons in deploying
NFV in current and emerging networking environments.

The research can be in NFV range from virtualization of both residential
and service provider wireless gateways/access nodes to centralized
control for optical fibers channels and MPLS. There are limitless
network functions that can be virtualized and there are various factors
that can impact NFV such as algorithm for QoS and Security, innovation
for new programmable ASIC or advanced FPGA. Practical experience on
deploying NFV for novel applications are particularly welcome especially
integrating virtualized network devices into the existing network.

The contributions requested include but are not limited to:

     * Cloud or Virtual Residential Gateway
     * Virtualization of Access Network Function
     *     Programmable Access Technology
     * Centralized or unified control & management of FTTx
     * Wholesale of virtual access network
     * Quality of service in access network virtualization
     * Service provisioning or generation in virtual access network
     * Coexistent of virtualized and non-virtualized access network
function
     *     Impacts on user experiences

We encourage submissions of high-quality technical papers reporting
original research that has not been previously published, and is not
currently submitted for consideration elsewhere. The special session
papers will be treated the same as the main technical track papers in
terms of formatting, reviewing, quality control, inclusion into
proceedings, author registration and attendance.

Call For Papers

IEEE Consumer Communications and Networking Conference (CCNC), Special sess=
ion on Network Function Virtualization

Special Session URL:
http://ccnc2014.ieee-ccnc.org/call-for-submissions/call-special-sessions#ne=
tworkfunction-virt

Network Function Virtualization (NFV) has gained considerable attention bot=
h in academia and industry. This special session calls for recent research,=
practical experiences, and development lessons in deploying NFV in current=
 and emerging networking environments.

The research can be in NFV range from virtualization of both residential an=
d service provider wireless gateways/access nodes to centralized control fo=
r optical fibers channels and MPLS. There are limitless network functions t=
hat can be virtualized and there are various factors that can impact NFV su=
ch as algorithm for QoS and Security, innovation for new programmable ASIC =
or advanced FPGA. Practical experience on deploying NFV for novel applicati=
ons are particularly welcome especially integrating virtualized network dev=
ices into the existing network.

The contributions requested include but are not limited to:

*. Cloud or Virtual Residential Gateway
*. Virtualization of Access Network Function
*. Programmable Access Technology
*. Centralized or unified control & management of FTTx
*. Wholesale of virtual access network
*. Quality of service in access network virtualization
*. Service provisioning or generation in virtual access network
*. Coexistent of virtualized and non-virtualized access network functio=
n
*. Impacts on user experiences

We encourage submissions of high-quality technical papers reporting origina=
l research that has not been previously published, and is not currently sub=
mitted for consideration elsewhere. The special session papers will be trea=
ted the same as the main technical track papers in terms of formatting, rev=
iewing, quality control, inclusion into proceedings, author registration an=
d attendance.
