Hello,

Although we did not meet in Chicago, I did submit a new version of
draft-ietf-sipbrandy-rtpsec before the meeting. This incorporated the
feedback from the previous session, as well as some other points that had
come up related to Adam Roach's comments on the interaction with connected
identity.

I have had one offline discussion recently about the need to get connected
identity right for core STIR, not exclusively for use with the SIPBRANDY
profile of STIR. I think there are probably some good reasons to try to
get that properly defined. We had talked a bit here about trying to patch
RFC4916 for STIR in the context of this working group, but probably I'll
submit that as an individual and at some point we can decide where that
work should live. The RTPSEC draft here should probably reference that
patch to connected identity. But other than that, I'm not sure I have a
lot of outstanding action items for the RTPSEC document. We set out to
define a pretty simple profile, just kind of a framework document for how
you combine a bunch of things we've defined elsewhere, and at this point I
think the big ideas are in place.

Hi Andy,

please, note that draft-ietf-sipbrandy-osrtp has expired:

https://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/draft-ietf-sipbrandy-osrtp/

What are your plans to keep it alive?

Thanks,

Gonzalo

I hope this draft will proceed forward and eventually -and hopefully soon- =
become a RFC. It addresses a real problem with a practical solution.

Just as additional info, it seems likely that the "sister document" draft-h=
utton-mmusic-opportunistic-negotiation-00 will be adopted as a WG soon.

Thanks,
Tolga

Hi Andy,

please, note that draft-ietf-sipbrandy-osrtp has expired:

https://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/draft-ietf-sipbrandy-osrtp/

What are your plans to keep it alive?

Thanks,

Gonzalo

A New Internet-Draft is available from the on-line Internet-Drafts directories.
This draft is a work item of the SIP Best-practice Recommendations Against Network Dangers to privacY of the IETF.

Title : An Opportunistic Approach for Secure Real-time Transport Protocol (OSRTP)
        Authors : Alan Johnston
                          Bernard Aboba
                          Andy Hutton
                          Roland Jesske
                          Thomas Stach
	Filename : draft-ietf-sipbrandy-osrtp-02.txt
	Pages : 8
	Date : 2017-05-08

Abstract:
Opportunistic Secure Real-time Transport Protocol (OSRTP) allows
encrypted media to be used in environments where support for
encryption is not known in advance, and not required. OSRTP is an
implementation of Opportunistic Security, as defined in RFC 7435.
OSRTP does not require advanced SDP extensions or features and is
fully backwards compatible with existing secure and insecure
implementations. OSRTP is not specific to any key management
technique for SRTP. OSRTP is a transitional approach useful for
migrating existing deployments of real-time communications to a fully
   encrypted and authenticated state.
