IMO the point to get across is that multiple SRCs are *permitted* to
refer to the same entities by using a common UUID. (The SRS must not
consider this an error.) *How* the SRCs determine they are referring to
the same entity and obtain the same UUID for it is out of scope for this
document.

Perhaps it would be better to discuss this in 6.10.

Same comment as above.

I agree this is worthy of some discussion as to whether 3326 is
sufficient, or if we need a wider range of causes than that provides.

I agree with Andy that just having a string, that might or might not be
a standard string from 3326 is dubious. With that you can never be
certain if the reason has the exact semantics of a 3326 reason.

So I'm inclined to think we should be able to carry everything from a
Reason header.

I think this paragraph should be removed. </AndyH>

Certainly we can't enumerate all the things we *don't* cover.
IIRC this was added because some people expected that we *would* include
info about desired retention policy, and we wanted to make it clear that
we were not. I see no harm in that.

There is (technically) no formal membership in IETF working groups.
Anyone may participate. The first thing to do is to subscribe to the
mailing list:

https://www.ietf.org/mailman/listinfo/clue

That will bring you all the email discussions of the wg. In addition,
subscribing allows you to reply or post to the mailing list.

BUT, for siprec you are arriving late. The work of the working group is
near to completion, at least for the work it has considered to be within
its current scope.

OTOH, there are many things that *could* be addressed in recording that
have not been addressed. Among those is telepresence.

It is *my* hope to gather interest for follow-on work to broaden the
scope of siprec. If that happens, then there may be more of an
opportunity for you.

	Thanks,
	Paul

Siprec group members, hangers-on, and lurkers:

The National Emergency Number Association (NENA) is sponsoring an Industry =
Collaboration Event (ICE) for this fall that will include tests of siprec m=
edia and metadata recording within the NENA "i3" architecture. The event ha=
s been dubbed "ICE 8", and the actual date is TBD. Many of you know that Br=
ian Rosen serves as the Working Group chair for the NENA group that has def=
ined that i3 architecture. And I know that some of the companies represente=
d on this siprec working group already plan to participate in the test even=
t.=20

You can read the ICE 8 charter on NENA's website at https://www.nena.org/?N=
G911_ICE8. Companies that offer "NENA i3-conformant" systems within the sco=
pe of the ICE8 charter are encouraged to participate. If you wish to inquir=
e about ICE 8, reply to this email, or use one of the links on the charter =
page.=20

Thank you,

Michael Smith, chair
Simon Farrow, vice-chair
NENA ICE 8 Planning Committee

A new version of I-D, draft-ram-siprec-callflows-03.txt
has been successfully submitted by Parthasarathi Ravindran and posted to =
the
IETF repository.

Filename: draft-ram-siprec-callflows
Revision: 03
Title: Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) Recording Call Flows
Creation date: 2013-02-25
Group: Individual Submission
Number of pages: 18
URL: =

Abstract:
Session recording is a critical requirement in many communications
environments such as call centers and financial trading. In some of
these environments, all calls must be recorded for regulatory,
compliance, and consumer protection reasons. Recording of a session
is typically performed by sending a copy of a media stream to a
recording device. This document lists call flows that has snapshot
of metadata sent from SRC to SRS, the metadata format for which is
described in [I-D.ietf-siprec-metadata] . This is purely an
informational document that is written to support the model defined
   in the metadata draft.

                                                                         =
