The following errata report has been submitted for RFC7332,
"Loop Detection Mechanisms for Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) Back-to-Back User Agents (B2BUAs)".

--------------------------------------
You may review the report below and at:
http://www.rfc-editor.org/errata_search.php?rfc=7332&eid=4108

--------------------------------------
Type: Editorial
Reported by: Chozhan A <chozhan.a@huawei.com>

Section: 5

Original Text
-------------
If the received request did not contain a Max-Forwards header field,
one MUST be created in any request generated in the UAC side, as
described for proxies in Section 16.6, Step 3 of [RFC3261].

Corrected Text
--------------
If B2BUA creates a request as a result of processing a
incoming response, Max-Forwards MUST be added in any request
generated in the UAC side, as described for proxies in
Section 16.6, Step 3 of [RFC3261].

Notes
-----
Max-Forward is mandatory for Request as per RFC 3261. So this case is possible only on response processing.

Instructions:
-------------
This erratum is currently posted as "Reported". If necessary, please
use "Reply All" to discuss whether it should be verified or
rejected. When a decision is reached, the verifying party (IESG)
can log in to change the status and edit the report, if necessary.

Hi,

I think RFC 7332 errata 4108 should be rejected.

The errata should be rejected because the original text clarifies the
B2BUA behavior (in relation to section 5 paragraph 2) when Max-Forwards is
not present in the received request.

Similarly, I don't think that the proposed corrected text is needed.

Concerning the errata notes, receiving requests without Max-Forwards is
possible. Adding Max-Forwards was optional for RFC 2543 compliant
devices.

Thanks,
Brett

(As co-chair)

Hi,

Based on the decision in Toronto, the chairs would like to suggest that the=
following draft is adopted as a WG document:

              draft-ram-straw-b2bua-stun-00 (http://www.ietf.org/id/draft-r=
am-straw-b2bua-stun-00.txt)

The draft would be the base for implementing the following charter delivery=
:

"A document defining the requirements for B2BUAs to support STUN message tr=
ansactions end-to-end submitted to the IESG as PS"

If anyone objects to the adopting the draft, please indicate so by Friday 2=
6th September.

Regards,

Christer & Victor

Subject: [straw] Call for WG adoption: draft-ram-straw-b2bua-stun-00

(As co-chair)

Hi,

Based on the decision in Toronto, the chairs would like to suggest that the=
following draft is adopted as a WG document:

              draft-ram-straw-b2bua-stun-00 (http://www.ietf.org/id/draft-r=
am-straw-b2bua-stun-00.txt)

The draft would be the base for implementing the following charter delivery=
:

"A document defining the requirements for B2BUAs to support STUN message tr=
ansactions end-to-end submitted to the IESG as PS"

If anyone objects to the adopting the draft, please indicate so by Friday 2=
6th September.

Regards,

Christer & Victor

A New Internet-Draft is available from the on-line Internet-Drafts directories.
This draft is a work item of the Sip Traversal Required for Applications to Work Working Group of the IETF.

Title : Session Traversal Utilities for NAT (STUN) Message Handling for Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) Back-to-Back User Agents (B2BUAs)
        Authors : Ram Mohan Ravindranath
                          Tirumaleswar Reddy
                          Gonzalo Salgueiro
	Filename : draft-ietf-straw-b2bua-stun-00.txt
	Pages : 13
	Date : 2014-09-30

Abstract:
Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) Back-to-Back User Agents (B2BUAs)
are often designed to be on the media path, rather than just
intercepting signaling. This means that B2BUAs often act on the
media path leading to separate media legs that the B2BUA correlates
and bridges together. When acting on the media path, B2BUAs are
likely to receive Session Traversal Utilities for NAT (STUN) packets
as part of Interactive Connectivity Establishment (ICE) processing.
It is critical that B2BUAs handle these STUN messages properly.

This document defines behavior for a B2BUA performing ICE processing.
