Please note, submission deadline is in 2 weeks!

To participate in this workshop you only have to submit a short position paper
(not more than 2 pages). We would really appreciate some input from this working
group!

See you,
Mirja

Hi Folks-

Gorry Fairhurst & Brian Gravel have agreed to edit the first TAPS doc that
will define a set of Transport Services, identifying the services provided
by existing IETF protocols and congestion control mechanisms. The plan is
to get an annotated outline out as the -00 draft for discussion up to and
at the IETF meeting in Honolulu on November 13th. We will be looking for
feedback on the document structure and volunteers to author sections.

Hi Aaron,

great news. Let me know if I can help authoring some sections. However, =
I can't attend the next IETF meeting.

Hi Folks-

Gorry & Brian have published an annotated framework for TAPS doc 1 on
transport services here
<http://tools.ietf.org/html/draft-fairhurst-taps-transports-00>. We'll
discuss whether to adopt it as a working group doc in Honolulu. I
encourage you to send comments and offers to contribute text before then.

Hi Folks-

Please send proposals for TAPS agenda topics for the Honolulu meeting
ASAP. Currently I'm thinking we'll have the following:

1) a discussion on terminology
2) comments on draft-fairhurst-taps-transports-00
3) hum on adopting draft-fairhurst-taps-transports-00 as a wg doc

Also, a heads-up: our meeting time may be changing. The IESG is trying to
resolve some scheduling conflicts and I've been asked whether we could meet
in another slot. Stay tuned.

This is interesting and I think a good start for overall framework. =
While I have not tallied which one of those are in the IETF would we =
want to also include some of the TCP accelerator work? And of course =
some the IRTF work on network coding that exposes a reliable and error =
free service could eventually be added when it makes it to IETF?

hi Marie-Jose,

The intention with this document is to include as much of the work in =
the IETF that provides services for transport (for some definition of =
"transport" and some definition of "service"; we're working now on a =
strawman terminology to shoot holes in in Honolulu), so the broad answer =
to every question below is "yes".

Cheers,

Brian

While I have not tallied which one of those are in the IETF would we =
want to also include some of the TCP accelerator work? And of course =
some the IRTF work on network coding that exposes a reliable and error =
free service could eventually be added when it makes it to IETF?
