All,

We haven't seen any responses at all for this on the list (blame it on the
holiday season). We'll extend the last call by one more week and see how it
goes -- the last call now ends on Jan 13th.

Regards,
Pavan and Lou

Hi, Folks:

For detecting the Delay/Delay Variation of the LSP, why doesn=E2=80=99t =
the ingress router using the LSP Ping/Traceroute as that described in =
RFC 7737/RFC7110?

RSVP is used for the resource reservation, not for the data plane =
detection.

=20

I think the authors had considered this, adding some clarification in =
the document may be more convincible.

A New Internet-Draft is available from the on-line Internet-Drafts directories.
This draft is a work item of the Traffic Engineering Architecture and Signaling WG of the IETF.

Title : GMPLS Signaling Extensions for Shared Mesh Protection
        Authors : Jia He
                          Italo Busi

	Date : 2020-01-07

Abstract:
ITU-T Recommendation G.808.3 [G808.3] defines the generic aspects of
a Shared Mesh Protection (SMP) mechanism, where the difference
between SMP and Shared Mesh Restoration (SMR) is also identified.
   ITU-T Recommendation G.873.3 [G873.3] defines the protection
switching operation and associated protocol for SMP at the Optical
Data Unit (ODU) layer. RFC 7412 [RFC7412] provides requirements for
any mechanism that would be used to implement SMP in a Multi-Protocol
Label Switching - Transport Profile (MPLS-TP) network.

This document updates RFC 4872 [RFC4872] to provide the extensions to
the Generalized Multi-Protocol Label Switching (GMPLS) signaling to
support the control of the shared mesh protection.

Aijun,

What this work describes is not a new protocol to detect the metrics. This
draft describes encoding to carry those metrics along the LSP path.

RSVP-TE seems like a natural fit as RSVP-TE is exactly used to signal the
TE-LSP in the first place.

Authors,

I read the draft and fill that there is one serious gap. The draft
describes carrying metrics detected in some way over adjacent TE-LSP
midpoints. Encoding delay in microseconds is also great. (Draft should put
that verbatim vs give ref to another RFC :).

But there is no provision to get information where this delay is coming
from and what it actually means. Is this only to first ASIC/NP on the LC of
the node ? How about delay and delay variation on transit via the router
itself ? Real life examples show that a lot of anomalies in real network
can be detected by observing transit times via the router or switch. IMO
this is missing from this draft.

Thx,
R.

Dear all,

=20

The IETF TEAS and CCAMP working groups would like to thank the ETSI ISG =
NFV for notifying the start of the work on multi-site connectivity =
services. We acknowledge the commonalities between the WIM =
infrastructure manager interfaces and the ACTN ones, in particular the =
CMI (CNC-MDSC) interface. Our understanding is that the scope of the WIM =
interfaces is not limited to the management of the underlay Traffic =
Engineered infrastructure but also the connectivity services that can be =
built on top of that, like e.g. L3VPNs and L2VPNs.

=20

The relevant documents specifying YANG models (and related status) for =
the connectivity services are:

*	L3SM =E2=80=93 A service model for L3VPN services =E2=80=93 RFC 8299
*	L2SM =E2=80=93 A service model for L2VPN service =E2=80=93 RFC 8466
*	L1CSM -  =
https://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/draft-ietf-ccamp-l1csm-yang/ stable =
working group document already reviewed by YANG doctors.
*	L3NM =E2=80=93  =
https://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/draft-ietf-opsawg-l3sm-l3nm/ stable =
working group document

=20

On the other side ACTN provides guidelines for the implementation of =
interfaces for the management of traffic engineered underlay =
infrastructure =
(https://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/draft-ietf-teas-actn-yang/). A wide =
variety of YANG models can be used to implement various features (e.g. =
calendaring, telemetry) but a minimal set of mandatory models to operate =
the network is identified:

=20

*	TE topology:  =
https://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/draft-ietf-teas-yang-te-topo/ =E2=80=93 =
approved by the IESG and in the editor queue
*	ACTN virtual network:  =
https://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/draft-ietf-teas-actn-vn-yang/ =E2=80=93 =
stable working group document
*	TE tunnel:  =
https://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/draft-ietf-teas-yang-te/ =E2=80=93 =
stable working group document

=20

Extensions to these models are defined in the CCAMP working group to =
provide technology specific extensions. TE Topology and TE tunnels =
augmentations are being defined for WSON (Wavelength Switched Optical =
Networks), flexi-grid WSON, OTN (digital layer of the Optical Transport =
Network).

In the eventuality in which the ETSI NFV ISG identifies additional =
requirements that are not currently addressed in the ACTN framework =
(RFC8453) and models, they can be proposed as individual contributions =
either in the TEAS working group (if technology agnostic) or in the =
CCAMP working group (if technology specific) and follow the IETF =
process.=20

Reviewer: Ebben Aries
Review result: On the Right Track

First, I'd like to apologize for the delay in getting this review out.
Overall, the draft/modules are in fairly good shape but have some
comments/clarifications below.

2 modules in this draft:
- ietf-rsvp-te@2019-07-06.yang
- ietf-rsvp-te-mpls@2019-07-06.yang

YANG compiler errors or warnings (pyang 2.1.1, yanglint 1.5.5, confdc 7.2.1)
- ietf-rsvp-te: Line 262 - when statement should have a description
  substatement per RFC6087, Section 4.12
- ietf-rsvp-te-mpls: Line 121 - when statement should have a description
  substatement per RFC6087, Section 4.12

Module ietf-rsvp-te@2019-07-06.yang:
- Remove WG Chairs from contact information per
  https://tools.ietf.org/html/rfc8407#appendix-B
- There are 2 augments to rsvp-te-interface-attributes of an empty state
container. What are the intentions behind this and is it meant for future
  proofing other modules?

Module ietf-rsvp-te-mpls@2019-07-06.yang:
- Remove WG Chairs from contact information per
  https://tools.ietf.org/html/rfc8407#appendix-B
- The leaf 'percent-value'. What is the intention of specifying a range here
that covers the entire uint32 space?

General comments on the draft/modules:
- Consistent use of 'units' statement for various data nodes
  (soft-preemption-timeout is one such example)
- When 'units' is in use, rather than define it as "Bytes per second", I
suggest replacing w/ the common usage of "bps"
- Various leaf descriptions have "XX" placeholders that need updating
- In the IANA considerations, this appears possibly cut/pasted from another
module set and needs to be corrected to reflect the actual 2 modules
  contained within this draft.
- It seems these modules are agnostic of IPv4/IPv6 transport yet existing
implementations are going to be geared towards IPv4. What if any
considerations need to be called out or adjusted here as an implementation
would either need to resolve this via deviations or backend validations.
- Lack of defined RPCs. For all the cases around RSVP signalled LSPs, is
there an intention to add relevant RPCs in this draft? (Same w/
  notifications)
- Am I missing any generic per-LSP counters defined throughout these models?
- Are there any uses where features/if-feature could be used throughout these
  modules?

Abstract:
This document defines a YANG data model for the configuration and
management of RSVP Protocol. The model covers the building blocks of
the RSVP protocol that can be augmented and used by other RSVP
extension models such as RSVP extensions to Traffic-Engineering
(RSVP-TE). The model covers the configuration, operational state,
remote procedure calls, and event notifications data.

Updates to the OTNT Standardization work plan:

IETF Working Group Structure Update:

+ The l2vpn working group and pwe3 working group have
completed and the new working group is pals (Pseudowire And LDP-enabled
Services).

+ In the OTNT document, please delete l2vpn and pwe3 and
replace them with pals.

Updates to Internet Drafts:

               + Delete
https://tools.ietf.org/html/draft-ietf-pce-remote-initiated-gmpls-lsp
because it has been merged with
https://tools.ietf.org/html/draft-ietf-pce-pcep-stateful-pce-gmpls which is
already on the list.

Hi guys,

First of all, happy new year!

We are currently modeling Telefonica Multicast Services (e.g. for IPTV=
distribution from head-ends), which make use of P2MP LSPs. I'd like to be =
able to have a yang data store to manage those point-to-multipoint LSPs, an=
d the ietf-te data store seemed the most appropriate. However, in the lat=
est version of the TE draft https://tools.ietf.org/html/draft-ietf-teas-yan=
g-te-22 the support for P2MP is quite limited at the moment.

The model has to main lists under the tunnels grouping, tunnel (which r=
efers to p2p ) and tunnel-p2mp. So far, what is available for p2mp is simpl=
y a name, identifier, description and operational-state.

| +--rw tunnel-p2mp* [name]
     | +--rw name string
     | +--rw identifier? uint16
     | +--rw description? string
     | +--ro operational-state? identityref

What are your plans regarding the support of p2mp? If needed, we can co=
ntribute to complete the model.
    Best Regards,

                =D3scar

Abstract:
This document describes the framework for Enhanced Virtual Private
Network (VPN+) service. The purpose is to support the needs of new
applications, particularly applications that are associated with 5G
services, by utilizing an approach that is based on existing VPN and
TE technologies and adds features that specific services require
   over and above traditional VPNs.

Typically, VPN+ will be used to form the underpinning of network
slicing, but could also be of use in its own right providing
enhanced connectivity services between customer sites.

It is envisaged that enhanced VPNs will be delivered using a
combination of existing, modified, and new networking technologies.
This document provides an overview of relevant technologies and
identifies some areas for potential new work.

It is not envisaged that large numbers of VPN+ instances will be
deployed in a network and, in particular, it is not intended that
all VPNs supported by a network will use VPN+ related techniques.
